This was the topic of today's Penny-Arcade and I figured it was relevant to these forums.

FTC Moves to Unmask Word-of-Mouth Marketing - washingtonpost.com

Long story short the FTC decided that companies must now disclose these kinds of relationships. You can't have an anonymous army of people out hyping your product to their peers (well, not legally anyway).

I can't wait for the board's interweb lawyers take on this.

Incoming: "Omg req, you can sue them for millions!"
