EQ2's PvP isn't worth posting/discussing.

The reality is it's not going to get better and it was never good in the first place.

There's nothing else to say.

I find it appalling that someone who is well familiar with the state of pvp in EverQuest and knows anything about the consumer base of EverQuest 2 expects any sort of major pvp improvements to ever be done, now, forever, or in the past. Sony is still in the mentality where they have seen every major competitor who advocated pvp fade into the distance, starting with their succession of UO, and followed by the failure of DAoC to make any significant changes to their subscription base.

As a result, everyone who enjoys pvp has stayed the hell away from EQ2 like the plague it is, because despite its many strengths that have been added since Gallente took over, the weaknesses are headed principally by Sony's "fuck you guys" attitude towards pvpers. And why the hell shouldn't they say that, you are probably one out of a thousand EQ2 customers who could give two shits about killing other people. Perhaps you haven't noticed all the housewives spending hours and hours tidying up and buying furniture for their goddamn houses. You did notice that, didn't you - the dev team spends more time on furniture than they do on pvp. Yeah that's right, there's furniture in your game. Why would they do that? It's called catering to their playerbase. Welcome to EverSims 2.

Rulesets or no, you can't exactly claim any sort of misleading, or misunderstandings when it comes to Sony shooting straight with the pvpers in the playerbase in regards to EQ2. They have repeatedly told you guys to go fuck yourselves, and here you come strolling in pretending like you were blindsided.

That's bullshit reasoning, and thus I highly suggest you quit, and go pick up a fucking game where they give a shit about pvp, or find a newfound love for your pve carebear bullshit game. EverQuest 2 will never have a substantial pvp game, and it shouldn't have been what attracted you to it in the first place. So rather than building on these successive errors, I suggest you start over fresh.

It doesn't help your cause that your post betrays an 'omg wtf' mentality ala Searyx of Morons of Norrath 9 fame combined with an inherent whiny nature that sounds like Makata discussing the nature of hunters before the last patch. This is on top of the general assumption that failure to do well in pvp results from not having worked hard enough to get the gear, not being a good enough at your particular class, or using a class to do something it wasn't intended or designed to do and consequently failing, surprising nobody. Only rarely does somebody suck because the class itself is broken. Furthermore, everybody here, and I mean, everybody, has been in a situation where the class they were playing was not currently flavor of the month. Thus we are fresh out of sympathy for your plight.

I say good day sir.

As someone who played on Nagafen from release till late June and experienced EQ2 PvP at all ends of the spectrum, yeah, you can keep bowing.

Epeen +3 inches

So what you're saying is that you don't even play anymore, and that gives you a right to talk about current issues with the game? I see.

The post is fine, except it doesn't take much to see why people would react as they are here... this board isn't exactly famed for dissecting nuances of EQ2 game dynamics.

Hell, some of the innovations or structures of EQ2 aren't even brought up when used by the resident armchair designers in their fanciful visions of the next generation - WoW is the talking point because of the amount of investment, on average, that people posting here have towards that end.

I'd like to hear a contextualized version of EQ2's schemes and dynamics, but my hat'd be clearly off to whomever could keep up end-game EQ2 *and* WoW to be able to present that to us.

Besides, his "I'm pissed off about this!" post really only allows the response "Yah, me too!" from what I can tell. Maybe we'll get a dev response to this ............................... hee hee hee

Regardless -- I don't think 12 douchebag's snide comments are indicative of the board as a whole. Perhaps the lull in insightful information reflects the lull in any sort of new MMO developments. And so it woes me to think that something "big," even in a game I don't play, would get shit on by people who've chimed in on trivial shit from the game they play. Harumph to them.

Maybe I missed something, but didn't requiem or someone appoint some moderators to delete these worthless forum warrior "QQ more" shit posts and ban the idiots that shit up every thread like this?

I don't even play EQ2, but if half the PvP is even half as bad as the OP described it (it sounded a bit exaggerated, but who knows) then I can definitely see some outrage about it.

EQ2 is a great pve game. Everquest was never suited to PVP in any form.

The original EQ had some decent PvP.

The thing that's most annoying is that EQ2 PvP had the potential to be fantastic but the general sense of things is that the whole project was a afterthought.

Major loopholes remained open forever, ridiculous imbalances hung around, and there was no communication (or barely any) from the devs that things were going to be fixed or addressed.

PS: EQ2 PvP from 10-30 is wicked fun on the group level. Best I've seen yet.

Eh, class balance is just one of a few issues of PvP.

SK's really didn't come into full domination until Luclin, and by then PvP in general was shit.

Man Schatze dont tell me you were playing all the time since your last thread about eq2 pvp. As someone mentioned before, its just one server and remember how long stuff like sullon zek took. These are projects done by 1 person or similar like that. Come to wow with Tbc or something :P

If he wanted to talk about EQ2 pvp, I'm find with that. But all he's doing is fucking whining. See the "Fuck pally's!" thread that got rickshawed for a comparison point.
