Mannoroth - Alliance -

The first people started yelling about this in Stormwind General. Within 5 minutes Flasks (Titans) were SELLING (meaning people were buying) for 9000g, simply because people wanted to get rid of the gold they'd been given in order to not get banned (supposedly). I personally know several people that still have 4000-8000g whose accounts are untouched. Rumor has it if you were given over 10,000g, that was the point you were banned.

shrug.

anywhoo...

any gold inflation is going to become really trivial come TBC. 1000 gold in TBC is pretty low, compared to the real value of 1000 gold in WoW 1.0

this makes me sad...as so far, they have done a good job at making sure the value has not inflated too much.

Some serious suggestions/questions as to why not?

1. Make durability have a max cap. Meaning if you have full purples and your all red...it will cost you X gold to repair if you have tier 1 or 5.

2. Make boss mobs drop a consistent amount of gold, despite when it game into the game. So Luci would drop just as much stuff from the black temple. That way no more gold is being put into the system.

3. Again, reduce the amount of gold one could get by killing mobs in the world.

4. Make dumb gold investments such as 'war efforts' or something. Every month, people dump items, gold into an NPC. Both horde and alliance. He who gave the most wins. WHen you visit a faction city over time you get some nice buff for an hour. Nothing stupid like turns you into a gnome or faction bonus. But something just below say Ony head buff.

Sounds like Blizzard needs to increase repair costs.

I hope they keep the problem with Prayer of Shadow Protection II codex's dropping off of every mob. That helps a lot with me getting my epic flying mount.

how big is the gold inflation, i am told like 50g repair costs(that was a rather uncredible source) atm for a nax warrior. So may be 80 gold for a melee and 50 gold for a caster in tbc epics?

I know how it was done, not sure the it is fixed though or not. Not really interested in giving the info to an exploit that may still exist regardless of the dangers of using it. If some higher power here approves of it I'll post but otherwise it's probably left unsaid.

Do you mean right now? The absolute most a 9/9 warrior with Kel'Thuzad weapons would see in a completely 0/X repair (on his normal gear) would be about 25-28g. If perhaps every piece of gear in his bags was 0/X, then maybe you could reach 50g, but it would require you trying. The best geared casters in the game reach about 20g for full repairs.

And regarding the duping, it had something to do with the mail system.
