I dunno but aparently they're too good for over 32gb of ram, 8 real procs, full hardware redundancy, cisco switching/load balancing, a 400 man vent server, a vBulletin license and a gigabit connection for free.

(I feel the need to say "real" because MY mysql server sits at 0.08 load average serving fohguild.org and dtguild.com, among other intensive things like the forumspy and the tracking system for the ads, even during the stress test. If they really do have 8 processors in place they are p2's or something - or maybe they just need alot more ram.)

Just asked a GM about this, best answer he could give me: "if you receive unusual quantities of gold or from a stranger, don't touch the gold and report his name to us."

So, uhm, yeah...

Sorry we are hermits and inherently paranoid and distrustful of all outsiders.

I'll pass the reminder along to the site admin crew.

Edit: Also, yeah, on topic, the whole dupe business that's circulating actually makes me kind of glad that thanks to Naxx I no longer have 43,000 gold sitting on my main, because I enjoy not having my account locked for investigation.

Well, do me a favor and tell the powers that be that 1)In my capacity as the Uberguilds Network Community Manager I am in no position to be snooping in on other people's private data from a relational or LEGAL standpoint. 2)I'm on irc.uberguilds.org as Requiem if anybody wants to talk.

Only goes to show ya that FOH boards have the talent and the knowhow to last for the long haul, because the administrators have forsight. There can be only one!...board of elitest jerks, and this one is it. =P

I miss the good old days of transmuting potions into gold via duping.

Call me crazy but I had a dream earlier this week about a WoW dupe, which is odd considering I don't play anymore

Eh, I had plenty of foresight when fohguild.org was down for a few months, but not nearly enough money. However, I now know what I'm up against, I've got funding for the Uberguilds Network, and since that time I've put well over 20k towards hardware alone. Once I had all of that hardware in, the problems the board has experienced have been related to acquiring said "talent and knowhow" with this level of hardware and hosting environment. The ride hasn't been without it's bumps and growing pains, but everything is coming together now and the servers are not only speedy but much more reliable than they've ever been. I've got more hardware on the way soon too.

End of my derail.

Speaking of which, I am not looking forward to getting my Blacksmithing up once TBC hits thanks to the Outlands Ore -> Bar conversion rate (2:1 and Ore still only stacks to 10).
