+2 Internets | I'm not a WoW player but I dont have a problem with this sort of thing. I'd rather see the company be ambitious and add plenty of great content even if it means shipping some of it unfinished, as long as they are up front about it as Bliz appears to be doing here. |

K you write some software, have 15 testers test it out, and then release it public - let me know how that goes. People *find* bugs. People think of things Developers wouldn't dream of - its reality, its how the world works. Yes in a perfect world everyone could release untested software - but Beta/PTR is an absolute necessity imo for a game of WoW's magnitude, hell ANY software of that magnitude. Why do you think there is a testing process to begin with? If you want Immersion, Vanguard is -> that way. have fun.

| Did you expect any different posting an unrealistic gripe like that on these boards? That post was about as coherent as any of Mataka's random ramblings about hunters, and it was about an aspect that 99.9% of all players LIKE about WoW : a good testing/PTR/Beta process. WoW isn't the game for those of you who liked the secrecy behind EQ's new encounters, and how loots weren't leaked nor shown to anyone for months ala Vulak'Aerr. Deal with it. Maybe you can make Vanguard that game, but probably not . |

I see wow as a more sporty MMO compared to what I've played before. Everything might be known upfront and theres little or no mystique, angels and fairies to discover and fill your head with, but it's not so necessary as the act of just playing the game is just fun.

Of course SOE for all its many, many flaws was still able to release an expansion more than once every two years. If I cared about TBC, I'd be more pissed that even with the two month delay from November Blizz is still unable to release a complete product. I really don't care one way or the other about public testing but WoW is hardly the be-all or end-all of MMOS And what the fuck is wrong with immersion as an ideal to strive for in MMOs? Seriously -- explain it to me.

| I re-read the post -- mmm. Yeah, I have to admit my problem with instancing has nothing to do with the fact that my group and group Y are simultaneously (or near simultaneously) killing Rag in different instances.

| Considering they claimed TBC has been in design/development since even before the retail release of WoW, there sure seems to be a lot of radical game tweaking still going on six weeks before release. Considering the usual slew of major system problems after a massive MMO patch, I would expect any unfinished content to slip into the summertime...

| I don't understand why players feel it's okay to test content without compensation. You're doing work and paying the employer to do it. There's no reason they can't test the content themselves. The bugs that usually pop up are blantantly obvious most of the time. Being taken advantage of like that would just piss me off.

| If i want immersion I just leave the office early and get stuck in Atlanta rush-hour traffic. Haters aside, WOW is pretty much the best fantasy RPG in terms of streamlined, fun (see: not tedious) gameplay--except for farming potions for Naxx bosses, which sucks. |
