Semi related question, when I had 10 forumspy's open all being refreshed, my bandwidth with everything else went to hell. Anyone have any ideas why?

EDIT: My net seemed to slow down to a crawl with 10-15 ForumSpy's open as well. Timed out twice, too.

Mine was fine with 10 forumspies, and foh up. . I stayed connected fine. . .was even raiding at the time!

The bottleneck is in the http server. The sql server was sitting there chugging along happily at 0.08 load average most of the time, whereas the httpd box was sitting at 50+ average, and near the end when we tried to crash it I saw it spike up to 170. I already have another web box ready to go, and I'm going to work on optimizing apache further than I have so far. I've got some php caching going on, but I think I can make it better. This is very useful information to me because up until now, it's always been the mysql server on the main box that killed the computer *way* before anything else, and I wasn't sure which would die first: the web box or the sql box now that I have a beefy as hell server dedicated just to mysql.

I think it's the frequency of new connections being opened. 20 pages of forumspy open killed my connection, despite not using any meaningful amount of my bandwidth.
