Rifter is what ive used. When you fly a tiny ship against a big ship, you want a teeny tiny ass signature radius. You also what a fuckton of guns. Tech2 highs with close punch in the face ammo. Then you fit for speed so their tracking is fucked.

So, something along the lines of 3xtech2 200s, 1 launcher, loaded with biggest damage ammo u can get. Mid shield tank+afterburner with gyros low finishes the ship off.

You can fit that for like 2m or so, and it can take down rat bs's... the super tanked ones will prolly be too hard, but average ones arent much problem. The great thing about a rifter is, nobody is really gonna bother going after you, because you'll be a bitch to catch, and they know your ship is gonna be a cheap ass crapper that really wont justify the effort they put into it.

the problem ive always had with using frigs to rat is when you warp in on like a 6 cruiser spawn you can get absolutely raped.

You don't need Tech 2 guns, actually. For every gun type there is always a Tech 1 named version with the exact same stats as the Tech 2 version, it just can't fit the advanced ammo. Since you don't want to use the advanced ammo for ratting anyway, this is not a problem. (It's expensive and screws your tracking.)

I'm still kicking myself for choosing Ministry of Internal Order as my missioning faction. They have ZERO stations with a medical bay, which means I can't enter 0.0 without risking 300m in implants.

That doesn't seem particularly scary; it's not like you're really taking hardly any actual risk flying through 0.0 space in a fast MWD frigate to get to your corp/alliance's jump clone stations. (Although that's presuming you're looking to hook up with a territory-holding corp/alliance.)

Plus, aren't there those jump clone corps that exist just for that purpose, or am I totally off here?

Level 1 missions in 0.0 are just as easy as level 1 missions in empire (and in fact they make a good bit more money and LP, too.) If you are at an 0.0 station where you feel safe, you will be able to run the missions no problem.

It's very difficult to find someone else's mission deadspace, and it can only be done by a dedicated fellow who gets lucky; it's almost a 100% guarantee that you won't get ganked inside a deadspace unless you are flying a really delicious target, like some obscenely expensive faction BS or something. In terms of safety, your main concern will be getting between the station and the mission area. If you're going through a stargate you are somewhat vulnerable in this regard (just undocking from the station, you're probably OK because you can re-dock, and coming back to the station you're OK because you can warp to a nearby point and scan the station for warp bubbles before you come in.)

The only good way to assure your safety through an uncharted stargate is to either use an alt scout or a friend to tell you what's on the other side of the gate. A small, fast ship might be able to evade a camp, but anything large enough to run level 3s or 4s probably won't.

I really don't know what regions might be more or less safe for a lone mission runner. I'm in Curse, where there are a few really delicious systems with multiple high-quality Angel agents, and my system of choice is usually well-populated with about 10-15 TCF + Goonswarm.

I've been experimenting with a stabber. I really suck at close range combat utilizing it's speed - i have the following setup:

Hi's: 4x220ac, 2xmissile launchers (or 2x med nos)
Med: Large Shield Extender, Warp Disrupter, AB/MWD
Lows: Gyro, Overdrive, I stab

The problem is I'm still getting pwned fighting other cruisers - I've tried orbiting them at falloff, but I still get wtfpwned when I need to reduce speed to even land some shots. I've even tried to manually correct my direction around targets, but that does me no good either. Anyone have some tips?

Staying out of web range and orbiting/maintaining range is pretty much your best bet. There are a series of videos by Phelan Lore called "Minmatard" 1-4 that have a lot of solo Stabber action in them, and you can pretty much see how he goes about dissecting someone during a fight. I've never been very good at it, which is why I mostly fly Amarr/Gallente.

Swap out the gyro and I-stab for maybe tracking mods/another overdrive? Add rigs?

Dunno, I'm using a Hurricane, which is similar, but I can hit. What are your gunnery skills at?

You've still got to GET to that station to set up the jump clone there without dying.

I'm probably going to have to bite the bullet and go for it soon, mission running is getting extremely boring, I've finally got the skills to compete, and I'm not lacking in money. I've got about 1.5 billion ISK in actual cash right now, if I sell my Centus X-type LAR and Corpum A-type EANMs I'll have even more because you'd have to be retarded to use these in PvP anyway.

Hardest part is finding a decent corp, everything I look up always seems to be ultra elitist "30m SP and three accounts minimum before we consider you" corps or "your job is pretty much gonna be suiciding in a tackling frigate a half dozen times per battle." corps.

Nice. Make one for autocannons, please

You know, in all seriousness, I bet if you made one for all the weapons, people on the Eve-O forums would exclaim "WOW, THAT'S AWESOME" and send you free isk

You guys have really been putting out some great info the last week or so. Before that as well, just the last week has been especially good. I have learned a lot, reinforced other things and come up with some ideas.

Amazingly, I don't think any other board (that I am aware of) could keep it this civil and this beneficial for this long.

mmmk. That's all.
