Or fly a capless minmatar shieldtank. Gahaha.

shield tanked nosdomi is a monster unfit for this world... other than the drone ships tho fitting a stupid number of nos has enough draw backs... and imo they are only really imba vs like amarr since they usually have delicate tanks and cant do shit once they are out of cap... i think thats something that needs to be fixed on the amarr side of things tho since the other races can fit to avoid or mitigate nos more.

Even a freaking Armageddon with 6x Heavy NOS, 2x DLA, and 5x Ogre IIs is still going to annihilate any other ship in the game 1v1 except certain frigates. (which they can just NOS and get away from anyway)

Questions.

Hello Guys, I recently starting playing EVE again, as RL has permitted me the time. I made the mistake of not keeping sub going just to train though .
I have around 2m SP and Its all Missle/caldari + the usual engi/shield/learning stuff. I'm Flying a Drake I just recently bought. Just a few Questions.

For missioning, is there a good Mission HUB that has decent supplies/mods/ships and actualy people around. Im doing lvl 3s until i have my skills where i want them to purchase a Raven(for missioning). I'm Mainly doing Missions for the jump clones and Implants. I'm not really concerned about a CNR or other stuff.
Once i have my jumpclone(if im reading right i can have a learning charc w/ + attribute implants, then the clone can have combat oriented implants?) and some implants, i'll mainly be doing 0.0 ratting and PVP for money.

Atm I have 2 ferox's and my drake in Lonetrek doing lvl 3s, place just seems barren of ppl, and not much of a market, so i can sell drops/ore/refined ore.I'd just like to find a good location as moving 2 ferox's and a drake is not fun for 10+ jumps.

problem with a geddon is any other ship with a drone bay can just put its drones on the geddons drones and prolly be fine, thats not true with a domi... if you have medium drones as most BS/BC should you can easily take out 5 ogres before they can do shit to you... hell you could prolly do it with just light drones... imo thats generally the weakness of the nos ships, if their drones die they are as helpless as the person they are nosing... the only nerf that drone nos ships might need is that drones should stay out if they are in combat so you cant play the recall game with them so they never die.

If you just want to do L3 Caldari missions for a while just do Caldari Navy in Kaunokka (The Citadel). 2 high quality L3s and a mid quality L3 agent in one system and you're like 7 jumps from Jita to unload your crap once a fortnight in your Indy.

Pretty easy stuff to tide you over until you're doing L4s.

Is it a good idea to train a little industry to use those ships? I have like lvl 1 of mining from the intial tutorial, I just cant do that side of eve, it bores me. I mainly reprocess any non named/usefull items, and sell the ore, but moving ore is impossiable, once you build up a decent amount, in a BC.

I should probably just find a corp and HQ there, but I look on eve-o and all these people with 10m+ sp, and its intimidating to post your measly 2m SP charc LF corp. Then there's the fact that 99% of those replies look like Copy +pasted, and they just reply to every Thread.

I just started a trial account a few days ago and I'm enjoying the game so far, but I just don't see how I'll ever be able to compete in the high end PvP, the most appealing aspect of the game for me. I mean that right now i'm at about 800k SP, the starting amount, but if everyone else is gaining new SPs just as fast if not faster than me how will I ever be able to catch up? Once i get 5m SP the high end players will have 20m, once i get 20m they will have 40m, etc. It seems pointless to start now, please tell me I'm wrong.

Everyone should train their race industry ship skill to at least 3... you will find a need to fly the haulers early and often. Plus when you get tired of missioning (which happened pretty quickly to me) you could use the hauler to move your stuff around or get into some trading.

Well you won't catch up, but I doubt that will be a big deal really. Like someone with 10m+, I'm sure they would only use a fraction of that at one time as all those points will be spread over all ships, modules, weapons, industry, research, and whatever else they invested in.

Myself I'm only at about 1.5m, but I would imagine that once I get the skills maxed out that affect what I am flying and the ship fitted correctly, I should be able to do fine against people with 10 times as much SP. I think once I get to that point it will come down to knowledge and skill.

You won't ever catch up, that's not how the game works. However, once you max or near-max your capabilities to fly a particular ship, that's really it, you don't get much better.

People with 40-60M SP are simply capable of flying a lot more than things with that character than you can, they're not necessarily any better in combat than a 10M SP person. That said, there are a LOT of dependent support skills, and having them maxed out takes a good number of SP. To have a truly top-end character will take you at least a year, it's not like other MMOGs where you max out in a month.

But you can be at 80-90% effectiveness within a couple of months, and at that point, situations and tactics do become more important than SP. So what I'm trying to say here is it's not really a situation where you are permanently screwed and will never be as good as older players, _however_, it will take a significant time investment.

That said, it's pretty fast and easy to become maxed out to fly smaller ships like Interceptors and such, and they are, imo, the most fun ship classes in the game and always desired in gangs. Covops too.

I'll second getting at least to Indy I. I use my Itty I to haul all my mission loot/salvage to the local market hub. Just park it in a station around where you are currently missioning and when you've got it filled up off you go to market. That's in high-sec of course.

As far as sp's go, yes it can seem daunting. I'm just a bit over 5mil myself and it seems like the more points I get, the more new paths open up and I realize I'll never catch up to the 3yr old players. But I'm okay with that mostly. Just work within your limits and enjoy the game while you can. If you don't want to mine or go into industry you've just shaved alot of sp's off right there that you will not have to train. Myself, I like to dabble in a little bit in everything so my combat side suffers for it. But then I'm a gallente drone nut in a domi/myrm so I can slack off on things like gunnery and still do ok.

I would say your inability to read a thread and comprehend it's content, which addresses this very issue, is going to be a bigger handicap in competing in high end PvP
