As for two boxing in eve, it works beautifully in my experience. Eve is not a resource hog at all. But neither account can be a trial. This is intentional, and you get the only 1 trial at a time error even if only 1 is a trial. Both have to be paid for accounts to run at same time. Eve is the first game since eq that ive played where dual boxing is truely worthwhile/fun. You can get pleanty from the game with 1 boxing, but playing 2 accounts at once opens a lot of possibilities. I have my one char which is heavily focused towards "punch in the face" combat. Close range, tackling, fast flying badassness, then my second char is heavily support. He can do mining, industry shit, and is set up to do sniping/salvaging. Its basically my main's retard sidekick. Most of the time while ratting, my second char flies around in an indy, just mining shit and salvaging all the wrecks i leave behind when i fight rats, because i find that having him target and shoot rarely makes enough of a difference to justify the effort, and an indy can store a rediculous amount of shit in it for cheap dollar. Fly that tub to JITA after a dozen lvl 3 or 4 missions and you can often find that you've accumulated 100m+ of salvage/loot, and if you try collecting all that shit in your main, your gonna be yawning yourself to sleep as you cruise over at a brisk 200, so that alone is major win. Biggest benefit of a second char though is you can have them follow you around when your looking for a fight in some cheapass expendable sniper ship. If it dies, whatever. Think of it as a giant drone or something. It is, however, great dps and a good trump card that can make your main much more powerful, and counter the fact that other people are gonna be flying their own drones of doom. +13 Internets | I would recommend a destroyer for looting / salvageing if you're in same system as a station. 8 hi slots lets you fit so many tractor beams and salvagers, that it really speeds things up. |

| Both need to be paid accounts. If you're into dual boxing though, this game is one of the few where it will make a huge addition to your gameplay.

Destroyers are probably your ship of choice for looting level 3s and lower missions, which is certainly where you will start.

I hate leaving anything behind, so bet your ass i do. In a indy i got the room for it. I have a friend that uses the 800 cap chargers, so saving a trip to jita ect makes everyone's life much easier.

| I usually fit 2x salvagers 1x tractor in the highs on my domi.. its annoying sometimes if theres rats who orbit at like 50km but since most stay inside 30 it works well. when im not to lazy to two box i use an alt in a zealot since it has alot of cargo space and i found that the destroyers ran out of cap trying to run salvagers/tractors... eventually im gonna use my alt in a geddon with salvagers/tractors + armor rep drones, should make my domi all but unkillable by mission rats. If you are using like a real low sp alt to salvage i recommend amarr since the coercer can fit 4 low slots, i got mine up to like 650 M3 and very rarely ran out of space looting/salvaging 1 lvl 4 as long as i didnt loot shit like 800pt cap charges. | Triple boxing ftw. I'm a one man mining op. Main has a mining dominix that kills all the rats with drones (1.8 mil usurper spawns even), another alt in a covetor and another character running around in an itty 5 with local hulls. I CAN make around a hundred+ mill an hour depending on the rats that spawn. Most hiliarious thing about it is we have alliance carebears that have died 2 or 3 times in one day to hostiles in local and I havent yet in the past month of carebearing while triple boxing (until recently I was 99% pvp time in game). One time I even used my alts to trap a hostile (hostile was retarded tech 1 frigate), flew in my fourth account (dictor pilot) on top of them caught their frig and podded them. | so whats a basic suite of skills I need to run level 4s in a raven? I think i've got most of them down, but it seems supremely possible that I've got some glaring holes on my sheet that I haven't noticed.

| I would consider this to be on the lower end of the requirements to run L4s, as I only have 4 million SP, but I'm able complete all except the difficult missions (Worlds Collide, Blockade, etc). Higher/maxed ranks of these would be preferred, and of course any cpu/powergrid skills that let you fit everything you want. Skills Combat Drone Operation 2 Drone Interfacing 3 Drones 5 Scout Drone Operation 4 Energy Management 3 Energy Systems Operation 4 Shield Compensation 3 Shield Management 3 Shield Operation 4 Cruise Missiles 3 Guided Missile Precision 2 Missile Projection 3 Rapid Launch 2 Target Navigation Prediction 2 Warhead Upgrades 2 Caldari Battleship 2 Ship - Caldari Navy Raven 7x 'Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I Heavy Diminishing Power System Drain I X-Large C5-L Emergy Shield Overload I Gist X-Type 100MN Afterburner Shield Boost Amplifier I 2x Active Shield Hardener (Primary Resist) 1x Active Shield Hardener (Secondary Resist) 3x Power Diagnostic System II 2x Ballistic Control System II Capacitor Control Circuit I (Rig) Semiconductor Memory Cell I (Rig) Core Defense Capacitor Safeguard I (Rig) Hammerhead I Drones I basically went the bare minimum to do L4s for cash then started focusing on learning skills up to Basic 5 / Advanced 4. After those I'm switching back to raising DPS and generic ship improvement skills (Cap/Shield). Last edited by Malakriss : 03-04-2007 at 08:57 AM. |
