You wanna stick with cheap and expendeble ships for mining. I also highly suggest you use cruiser/bs to mine because your just too fat a target for people to pass up in a indy/miner The extra weight of your ship will deter some attackers. You most certainly do not want to do what this guy did!!

Ferox is the only non battleship T1 ship that can snipe out of sentry range, so it has a niche, and the eagle is a rather nice ship - makes for a nice sniper and if one is crazy enough the beagle has an optimal over 10km with neutrons.

I think someone flies feroxes in pvp and is made fun of for it. J/k

PS Cav has capacitor problems. It happens to lots of guys.
Tbh i fly mostly gallente, but i can technically fly feroxes as well. They fit their role well and i really still can't see what is wrong about using a ferox in pvp. They do thier job and are especially for long range setups a nice alternative to a battleship. For example in fleet setups if you have a couple tech1 people and have to go for shorter range snipe setups you actually will prefer a ferox over an other BC, because tank will not matter much, but the ferox could run gang mods and stay with the fleet and shoot from the proper range.

All a matter of setups really, but i have killed a ferox in my taranis before....

From EVE Tribune....
Quote:
Now onto something with consequences for everyone. The Tech2 BPO lottery is being changed. For one, it’s going to be killed. No more. None. In the next six months, every last remaining BPO will be given to players, and the lottery closed down.

CCP seems to want all new T2 production to come from invention that’s available to all. Interfaces will be tweaked again for a suitable drop rate, and some types of new gear will be inventible. All of the existing BPOs will remain so for some time, until after a few months when Invention stabilizes, they’ll be converted into long-run BPCs instead.

Perhaps this’ll finally break the price cartels controlling many crucial tech 2 items, such as the Covert Ops II Cloaking Device or Invulnerability Field II. I say it’s about damn time I don’t have to pay 250 million ISK for a HAC that costs barely 20 mil to make.
Bolded the important part.

Contradicts the dev's saying they're permanent, so I'd say it's doubtful and he misread something.

Yeah I dunno where he's getting that. That's what they SHOULD do but I don't see anywhere they said they were going to do that.

I don't think I've seen anything 'comprehensive' as of yet; most of what I have seen has been spread across multiple posts on the EVE site. This next site seemed ok, if not a little bit hard to read. Not sure if thats the kind of thing you are looking for though:

Eve Online - Science and Industry Guide by GC13

I would imagine some of the more experienced players may know of something better, though.

Invention, currently, is the biggest goddamn ISK sink I've ever seen. That being said, I'm pushing into it hard. I have about half the interfaces and 3 characters with research agents stockpiling RP's (especially mechanical engineering, which I'm starting to sell for now due to the insane price).

When the lottery ends and thousands of datacores flood the market, though, the Cartels are done for.

I have slated this game in the past, and most of my comments hold true but I am well aware that, given the right circumstances, the game could become far and away better than any other.... I have joined the foh channel several days running and am starting to get back into the game... is there any attempt at an foh guild? I have never registered an SA account despite being an avid reader for several years so that rules me out of GF.... any other mad T1 guilds that want someone to just get in and kick ass?

I have 1 million SP basically divided between frig running and basic mining/industrial. I am willing to do anything, really, just want to capitalise on the 'group mentality' part of the game.... which, as far as I can see, makes up 99% of it!

I am Rooker Four ingame

having a ton of fun in the game. Had my first taste of pvp tonight and lost two ships (expensive) but it was a lot of fun.

Wish skills trained faster, there are SO many damn skills and they all take a long time to train.

Best thing to do in EVE if your just starting is to get some RL friends or Friends from other games to play with you. You can really do whatever you want from mining to Pirating and have fun that way.

Send a message via AIM to Eida
I actually like mining too and used to box two accounts (miner/hauler). Anyone know any 0.0 corps that would want a mining bitch if I were to reactivate?
