If you're talking about escrow then don't worry about it, it'll be gone on the 28th when Kali1 (revelations) hits. It's being replaced with the contracts system.

Also keep in mind that the main market is also a player market, the majority of items for sale on there is from players, not npc's. Escrow was a way of having your merchandise viewable from anywhere instead of only from within the same region, as well as for selling items that aren't listed in the main market categories. It's also used for the big big sales. I've seen legit escrows selling in the tens of billions.

So I reactivated my account only to find that all my character slots are full and I can't delete a character for 10 hours... why? I just want to start fresh following this guide.

It's there to help prevent housemates/family members from deleting your characters.

Is there any way to efficiently multi-box in this game? Any type of auto follow on another ship?

I tried it out for a week for the trial period a couple months ago, and just didn't get 'hooked'. If there was a way to play more than 1 character and do it realistically, perhaps it would open up more options to me. Hoping to get some kind of positive response

Well, if you're ganged with your alt you can of course do gang warps, but as for following the ship during combat etc... just have your alt set to orbit your main at 500m or something and it will stick with you as long as you're not going too fast for it.

As for effectively issuing commands to your alt, just do a cheap dual screen setup (that old 14" monitor in your closet) and you can quickly switch in between screens.

As a suggestion to the OP (or really any helpful person), it'd be nice to get a "Quick Guide to outfitting your ship for noobs" guide. Especially in relation to the provided Character Build the first post has. If I'm gonna spend the first month just doing training skills, like to be able to at least have a half-decent mission/pirate NPC grinding ship.

Well, it really depends on what racial ships you're flying but here's some basic common setups you'll see on tier 3 frigates. These are for pve setups.

Minmitar Rifter

High Slots
3x Small Projectile Turret guns (normally 150mm's)
1x Rocket Launcher

Med Slots
1 1mn Afterburner
1 Stasis Webefier
1 whatever

Low Slots
400mm armor plate
1 Small armor repair
1 Gyrostabalizer

Amarr Punisher
3x Pulse or Beam lasers (pulse = more damage but short range, and vice versa for beams)
1x Small Nosferatu

Med Slots
1x Afterburner
1x capacitor recharger

Low Slots
1x Small armor rep
1x Armor plate (size depends on fitting restrictions)
2x Capacitor power relay

Caldari Kestrel

High Slots
4x rocket Launcher

Med Slots
1x Afterburner
1x Small shield booster
1x Stasis webefier
1x Capacitor recharger

Low slots
Ballistic Control unit
Power Diagnostic system

Gallente tristan

High Slots
2x 150mm Railguns
2x Standard Launchers (rocket launchers if you're short on PG/CPU)

Medium slots
Afterburner
2 capacitor rechargers

Low slots
1 small armor rep
1 armor plate
1 whatever

Please don't start with the "holy crap those fittings suck" they're just quick off the top of my head setups for basic L1 mission running. They'll get you through your first week or two for messing around. The reason I suggest alot of capacitor recharge mods is that as a new player you're unlikely to have your engineering skills very high, and capacitor issues will be your #1 enemy early on.

Here's a great thread for various ship setups:

Quickfit is a great program to test setups in. It will also tell you exactly what skills you'll need for a setup. Remember to change the settings in the options that prevent you from adding equipment that you dont have enough skills/PG/CPU to fit on. On the main first section of the program there's button to show what skills you need for what you've set up.

Wow, you rock. Very nice.

One question though, if I went with Celebrindal's advised setup (Caldari- Gunnery 4, Hybrid Turret 3) would your advised Caldari setup work with that? Or would I need to start learning a different race's ship to get the maximum effect of my skills?

Good suggestion. Im wondering that myself.

Anyway, seems pretty cool so far. The atmosphere and music are great in the tutorial IMHO. Not boring at all really. I made an Amarr and following the newbie guides. BTW, don't see much mention of it, but graphics are damn good and gets outstanding FPS. Looks as good or better than Freespace, Homeworld, or Freelancer.

Well, The above setup would not as it's a missile boat. If you were looking to benefit from those skills you'd want a Caldari Merlin. It's a Railgun/missile mixed boat with a good tank. It would be a similar setup, just with 2 railguns and maybe 2 standard launchers (rockets if you cant fit em)

The most important thing to keep in mind in regards to starting skills is time saved, as progression in the game is typically skill based (barring ISK gains of course) so If you plan on getting Gunnery 4 and Small Hybrid turret 3 in the short future it will save you time.

There are no starting skill setups that will gimp you as you can simply train any skill, it will just take additional time, the most important thing is attributes, which the Caldari Achura have in perfect spades as Charisma is close to useless (not useless, just very specialized requirements)

Edited due to completely misunderstanding the question :P

If you like them now, look at what's in store for Kali 2.

Those are the DX9 improvements, the DX10 stuff will be even better.

Also, I suggested doing gunnery 4 / hybrid 3, because Gallente also use hybrid turrets, and I was going to eventually show how you can open up your flying to other races, if you didn't want to fly Caldari.

Also, I'm having a problem with my browser cookies and I can't stay logged in long enough to do anything. I can't send out the game invites, so if someone else can send out free trials, it would be appreciated.

I plan to continue the guide later on tonight.

Not sure if the player invites are different from the normal trial but they can go to https://secure.eve-online.com/ft/?ai...keyword=Google to get the free 14 day trial

The beauty of this game is that WAS the player market you were buying and selling from, there are very few npc buy/sell orders at all. To my knowledge npc's only sell a limited amount of certain trade (IE: uselsss) commodities along with some of the t1 bpos and other things.

The economy is entirely player driven, almost every item and ship in game is player made or produced. None of this gay "I pulled the hair off a giant crotch-beast and wear it on my face" shit.

You fool! Reroll Caldari with the rest of the horde before you invest further SP into your pilot.

Anyway, on a more serious note if you're just starting out you may wish to wait two weeks or so until Kali1 is released since they're upping the starting SP of all pilots to 800-900k from the 100-250k it is now. You also will get a more broad skill spread so you're not bored to hell while waiting on learning skills your first month.
