Be sure to train up a few levels of Refining, and if you can spare the time go for Scrapmetal Processing as you are throwing away lots of isk with the wastage factor when you reprocess.

Connections is probably a better idea, the increased standings with the NPC refiner will go a lot further than 2%/level on Refining.

Yeah, a new(ish) character has a lot more important skills to worry about at the start than refining stuff.

Just refine whatever. Unless its a named item, its doubtful it is worth the work to worry about selling it.

Also, I tended to skip looting/salvaging until I started killing battleships. It gives some isk, but you'd probably make similar isk just hitting another mission and faster missions = sooner access to higher level (and higher paying) missions. I don't know about other races, but a Caldari can start to be reasonably effective in a raven around 2.2 mil skillpoints or so as long as you have the standings for 4s by then.

In the last week I've had a large number of disconnects. Anyone else had this problem? I've read on the boards about a lot of crashes and some disconnects but I don't know if that's normal chatter or something unusual. I've lost so many drones in the last week I've really quit doing anything till I can figure out the problem.

I have this problem as well. Someone mentioned it was related to drones and turning off drone models would fix it. I turned off drone models and have not been crashing nearly as much. I still crash about 1x per day, but that's a lot better than every 1-2 hours like before. Might not be a real fix though, as I haven't been ratting as much and thus less drones out.

Yeah I really don't have a big choice at this point to use drones. When you have 2.5m sp in drones and 300k in gunnery you use drones lol.

I have been having sound issues and crashes to desktop every couple hours when in combat. I've disabled my sound for the past two days and have not crashed yet. No idea what the root cause is though.

I've only had one or two crashes in combat lately, but I couldn't tell what it was tied to. Most of my crashes have been in-station with multiple windows open, and when either switching ships with the fitting window open, or when opening the fitting window, I'll crash. Apparently random, happened several times in a row over 3-4 minutes the other night, hasn't happened in 2 days though. Really had never had this happen until a week or two ago, not sure what is causing it for me.

I haven't thoroughly tested it yet, but there seems to be a connection with world sounds and my game crashing. I have yet to have a crash with my audio on, but the world sounds slider to 0. Each time I try and move the slider back up I get crashes.

I'm not crashing, its sort of like a disconnect except the game stays open. Just nothing happens. You do no damage, you can't launch, recall drones. Eventually I have to shut EVE down and restart it and come back in mid warp and of course loose all my drones.

Just an fyi, you can recover your drones if they are still alive. Just need to get near them (1500m), right click them, and use "scoop". My drones only die about 1/2 the time I crash.

When this happens I wind up coming back in the game mid warp. When I warp back to where I was there's no drones there to pick up. Normally the whole mission has reset starting from the first room. It sucks when it happens more than once a day to loose 5 T2 drones.

Odd. I've crashed mid-mission with one char flying a drone ship and the other salvaging, but usually if that happens it's only a couple that die. Sometimes I can get back in, I'll warp back as you do, and if I'm lucky I'll be able to fly back to the drones and scoop them back up. I've only lost all of my drones a couple of times, it's as though once I DC the rats will continue to agro and kill one or two for a second after I have left, then they'll reset and ignore the drones.

That, coupled with the missions where they'll randomly swap agro and start pwning my drones, is why I stopped using T2s. The cost is much steeper, and I can usually do fine with T1s. Plus, I just use whatever T1 drones drop in missions, I never have to buy replacements.

Kind of annoyed at the 0.0 corp I ended up joining. Not positive I want to leave yet, but the leadership doesn't seem to "get" some basic leadership things so not sure that it has a chance in the long run.

hrmm, deleted the other reasons I'm annoyed with them as I doubt they are unique or that anyone cares.

Could anyone recommend a good 0.0 mining corp? Daily (or even 23/7!) mining ops w/ rorq and mining buddy would be the ideal setup, but that I'm not sure how many are that organized. I don't mind helping out with pvp some, but for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me thus far in eve. I noticed LSJV (EVE Online | EVE Insider | Forums) seems organized how I would do a mining corp, but no clue how rare corps like that are.

I'm having some issues looking for a corp also. About 4 of my friends recently came back to the game and we all have really old characters, but not a lot of skill points. We are all sitting at around 10-20mil SP atm now and are looking to get out into 0.0 in a good sized corp for mostly pvp.

The problem is that most of the corps that seem to be recruiting in the normal channels look small or new. These guys seem to be the equivalent of the dude in wow spamming that his guild has a tabard and 2 bank slots. Not asking for hand outs, but does anyone know of a corp that might take us in?
