Even if it's a small group doing small things I am cool as long as it's stable. I just don't know how to judge if a corp is decently stable in this game yet.
If you're looking to get into 0.0 pvp there's no better way to do it than to jump straight in. You'll probably find it pretty tough to find a corp that will recruit you with less than 2m SP, though, so I'd wait until then. Any corp that recruits you while you're still in your trial period is desperate.

Try BRUCE (Brutally Clever Empire), I think that a few of their corps have open recruitment. You could also try some of the corps in Syndicate. I know there are a few posters here that could probably hook you up.

IIRC Bruce has a 5m SP requirement, unless you come from EveU. That's the corp I would rec to you - EveU. Their whole purpose is taking new players and showing them the ropes. They even take them out PvPing. You can do that for a bit and move on from there if that sounds interesting.

How is EveU in regards to PvP training? I'd have to say thats the one thing I will need to start working on, and I dunno if there is a better option in that regard than EveU.

Just jump straight in with a 0.0 pvp corp. You'll learn more and learn it much faster than in EveU.

so I'm currently resisting the urge to resub atm, but I'm wondering a few things.

First of all, do research projects continue when you are not subbed? Wondering if I have an enormous fuckton of mech eng datacores waiting on me if I resub.

Second of all, everyone says just jump straight in with a 0.o pvp corp, but how the hell do you do that? do you just browse for a recruiting post that doesn't seem completely retarded and join that corp or what?

Easier said than done. I have "complained" about this in a couple threads now. The PVe game is cool and all but not the meat of the game from my point of view,I see the player controlled 0.0 space as the fun of the game, even if you are not pvping full time, just existing and participating in that area of the game is highly interesting to me.

That said corps just don't seem to be interested in new players, they want a certain amount of SP and they want people to be specialized, many will take newbie miners,or industrials but few seem interested in newbie combat pilots. I just broke the 2mil sp barrier which seems to be bottom end requiremnets for most corps, but finding an actual corp that is in 0.0 and recruiting is hard, the recruitment channel is flooded with newbies in their newbie corps looking for anyone,it reminds of that fucking gnome in those popular WoW player movies that runs around IF asking people to join his guild. We all know how those things go and EVE is just as flooded as any other MMO in that regard.

I don't need to be in a 500 person corp or anything,I understand small corps are part of alliances,I just don't want to participate in the building process of a new corp,I want to be recruited into an existing stable corp, alot to ask I know, especially when I am a new player; But the thought of jumping corps non stop and working my way to something that doesn't implode every other week is less than a thrilling idea for me.

I don't mind being newbie bait or performing medial tasks or whatever either,I just want to be involved, it's finding the corps that I am having difficulty with as the basic channels are very hard to wade through with all the crap corps trying to fill their ranks. There seems to be a great deal on the boards and in the game recruit channels that advertise all kinda of great things, then you look and they have 5 members, are not part of an alliance and have ridiculous tax rates and are just players looking to fuck newbies.

Is there some kind of special recruit channel where one can become part ofa corp that is actually in 0.0 and not just planning on going there some day? sign up now and be part of the next top 0.0 corp !

Its tough. I stayed in my own corp with a friend until about 10m sp. Then I looked at the recruitment forum and joined a 0.0 that I stayed with for about 8 months.

I left 0.0 in October and have pirated in Low-Sec ever since.

So I guess what I'm saying is that it isn't impossible to join a 0.0 corp but you may have to be of the mindset that you need to offer something to them which means you need time in empire to skill up your char.

Now that I've been playing for a couple of years I have the skill points and I've kept my nose and corp history clean so there isn't really anything negative for reputable corps to keep me out.

I was going to join Tri in November but ended up moving to another pirate corp with some guys that I met at Fanfest. I've had a real good time of it.

I understand that The Graduates (part of Bruce Alliance) recruit straight out of Eve-U because they support new players entering 0.0. If you are not part of Eve-U there is a 5m SP requirement (which to be fair isn't a lot). They prefer to keep a "good guy" image so asshats and leet BNET kiddies probably won't last long. Otherwise Goonswarm will take just about anyone, but I could never in good conscience rec someone look into them.

I'm sure there are other 0.0 corps accepting newer guys, but that's the lowest SP requirement I recall from my days of looking for a 0.0 corp. Oh, and maybe Paxton. To be honest it's been a while since I looked at any of the mentioned corps requirements, but worth a look if you are interested.

Unless you can play during Euro prime time don't bother. Eve sucks if you're American.

I felt the same way, though I was hamstringing myself with wanting no part of any pirate corp...I may drop that altogether and just say fuck it. But yeah, I was getting spammed at one time in-game by people in 2-man corps looking for people.

Now that I am planning on coming back into EVE, I plan on seeing if I can score some decent corp membership somewhere and learn the rest of the game.
