| Actually, after thinking it through I've decided I'm going to destroy my trial account character no matter what. It has a stupid name and a graphical avatar shaped like an ugly banana. So the question becomes, make a new character after Kali or make a new character BEFORE Kali and try to cheat the system. |

| Any characters below 800k get all their skills boosted to 800-810k. So if a made a new character tomorrow with 20k skills, then on Kali release I get 780k points distributed kinda randomly. Now if I made a brand new post-Kali character, you start out with 20 or so skills (judging from blog screenshots). If I made a new character now, you start out with 7-8 skills. So in theory, I could grab all the "learning books" and have the point boost go to them. In theory. |

| New question then. Since all the new skill paths will get you the same starting points, what path should I be aiming for if I want to be useful to a corp right away. Two weeks of grinding rats in .4 space has gotten me sick of being alone. Sorry for all the questions. Two weeks of grinding cash is finally coming to a useful conclusion. ;D |

| learning skills arent even all that bad with the new change to them, will cut down on them being a lame month marathon of training to only a lame 20 days... and in that time you will be able to very effectively fly a frigate. Im glad they are working on the newb experience, it should have gotten work before because its by far the worst part of the game but better late than never. Im gonna make a new char on a trial acct tomorow, see if i cant get the bonus sp if all i have is learning skills.. would be fuckin nice if it gave me learning 5 or somethin. +1 Internets | When you say fly effectively, like what does it entail? I've been playing for about 4 days now and just jumped into a caracal cruiser thing. I trained heavy missles and stuck them on there and went on with my missions.. I have a total of maybe 115k SP, and it just felt bleh. I realize there is a 'ton' of different options in there but questions I really really wanted answered are: 1. I want to fly really fast and be effective shooting missiles, turrets and laser beams look retarded - (although it will probably take a week before the what looks cool to what isn't cool will wear off). So I look at the tech 2 options of all the ships out there, and there isn't even 1 frigate that is designed to just shoot missiles. Besides maybe the tech 1 of Kestrel. On top of that, from what it sounds like in PvP - (although just heresay) frigates don't match up well in fleet battles... well I'm just interested in small player warfare, can some big fat ship come in and stop my fast flying frigate? My overall goal is to become extremely offensive with no defense, i.e your standard mage/rogue, f*** diversifying and having a ship for every occassion, tell me what I need to do for this to happen and what race. This post was definitely not organized, but before my vision of what my goals are becomes blurred after getting pushed into 1 category to do this, or this. Please please someone out there tell me straight up, non vague answers. Thanks ! |

| Hawks are the tier 2 missile frigate you're looking for Caldari-side. They're pretty bad though. (I think. I heard something about Kali buffs.) If you want overpowering offense, you'll have to upgrade to a HAC or BS-class chassis. Frigates overwhelmingly fill utility roles of some degree in fleets. As far as race/ship selection for pure damage, it depends on your fighting style. 1v1 the DPS of a Torp Raven vs another battleship is ridiculous and untankable. In fleet the DPS of a Torp Raven is about 0. The same goes for a blasterthron. A sniping Tempest/Geddon/Apoc puts out great damage at long range but is embarrassingly poor up close. Also, if you go down a ship class(but up a tech level and thus in price by quite a margin), at the right range and against the right targets, a Command Ship can put up great numbers. Just ask anyone who's been shot by a Sleipnir. | ||

+2 Internets | I know it's common sense, but set a long skill tonight(2-3 days at minimum). The last couple rollouts have been smooth, but the last thing you want to do is get stuck with nothing training because the servers are down.
