| What are your opinions on the new patch changes? From what I read on the forums Gallente/Minmatar got screwed while Caldari and Amarr got large boosts. Apparently passive tanking is the way to go in the new patch while active tanking sucks, which makes the Rokh and Abaddon really good while the Hyperion and Maelstrom suck.

| Abaddon seems a beast in close range fight, the Rokh will pretty much dominate the long range fight. Maelstorm is a tempest that trade 2 utility high slot and 70M for some extra hp (~a 1600mm plate), Hyperion is 12.5% more dps than the megathron for 70M to (you get extra hp but lose 1 slot because you need 3 sensor booster t2) As far as pvp is concerned passive tanking >> active tanking, so basicaly the Hyperion and the Maelstorm both have a useless bonus for PvP, while the Rokh and the Abaddon get an extra 25% hp on their passive tank, which is nice (ie equivalent to one extra slot at least) |

It's really screwy because it's a Caldari ship that doesn't use missiles at all for its primary function. Also, Gallente players can get into one MUCH easier than Caldari players can because the ship is based around gunnery. It takes a lot less time for Gallente players to train up to Caldari Battleship than it will take Caldari players, who have their most of their weapon skill points in missiles, to train up all the Gunnery skills to respectable levels. EDIT: The ECM nerf also screwed the Dominix to hell, no more massing ECM while your drones kill the other guy.

I'm actually well pleased with Kali1, though I don't fly battleships of any stripe so your mileage may vary. Exploration is fun. Rigs are pretty kinky. I just really, really wish they'd hunker down of a week or two and completely overhaul the UI. It's pretty silly that there are still clickable functions in any MMO that can't be hotkeyed. | New Dev Blog is out. Talks about the Player Creation Fixes. Now the real question is, do I remake my character in Kali, or keep the current "placeholder" one and hope to God that seemingly "random" improved skills are what I want. PS- The blog mentions that the skills improved are only ones you've already "learned". Does that mean if I go and quickly learn all the Learning Skills to rank 1, the 750k point "bump" will go into learning skills? Thus getting through some of those fast? Dev Blog |
