+6 Internets | Free bump really. =/ I did however hope some of the the long time Eve players would find this midly amusing. The the 2 times (no shit...) i've chosen to resubscribe in the last 2 years have been on the exact dates of Revelation 1(Kali etc.), (which I had no idea was releasing that day) and today, which I understand seems to be a big patch for Revelations. I find it amusing since the server has been fucked up all evening, (and when Revelations released of course.) It won't deter me as I realize I just have alot of terrible luck with dates and this game, I do find it funny in a masochistic sort of way though!! I would like to throw out 1 quick question.... When should I expect to see the crazy (DX10?) graphics or whatever I saw from the Revelations sneak peak thing or whatever quite a while ago? I have no idea when the date was but I remember them looking amazing, I'm not seeing the graphics @ that resolution and rocking 1680x1050 on an incredibly powerful system. Is that Kali 2? P.S. My internet puncuation and grammar is just as bad sober. |

| So I downloaded the trial and played through the entire tutorial.. 2 parts had me going wtf...... first off, the 2nd deadspace zone where you mine the rocks. How freaking boring is that? second, when they have you buy something a few jumps away and go there to get it. Are they kidding with how long this takes and/or how uninteractive/boring it is? I think it took "me" 10-15 minutes to make the 6 jumps. The combat wasn't bad, managing the range for my weapons and locking/etc works okay. The gate-jumping and mining just absolutely kill it though. How can they leave the gameplay like that? |

Solo mining is horrible. Group mining is a bit better, but mostly because of the chat. Players tolerate that as mining is not required at all. Asking for autopilot to warp to 0 on eveo forums used to start a massive flamewar. More interesting mining was mostly discussed as an antibot measure.

On the jumps did you use the autopilot thing cause its alot slower than doing it manually. If you have the waypoint set you can just click on the stargate that turned yellow in the overview and warp to 0 so you dont have to bother spending time on approach. Dome of the slower ships prolly will take 10 min to do 6 jumps if it was like a industrial ship. Travel in EVE is slower than prolly any other mmo ever made, but you really dont need to travel very much in every day activities unless you are doing courier missions or something. Its a blessing and a curse.

| Yea, I did jump with the autopilot on. I'm not sure jumping manually would up the excitement level any. I might try a few more missions and see if I end up having more fun, I basically logged out mid-jump because I couldn't believe it. |

+2 Internets | It may just not be a good game for you. Some folks can't get into the travel times and loosing a ship when you die (which pvp can happen anywhere. privateer alliance just war dec'ed us! joy) |

| I played 5 different trial accounts total, playing every race from a bunch of different angles to see what I liked. Finally ponied up to a full sub a couple days ago. I had gone through mid-level 2 missions for a few days, and was getting tired of that mission set (I think it was an astrogeo-flavored agent, of -8 quality, too many courier missions for my taste). After taking my standing with that agent to 6.5 (2.6 with the corp overall) I happened to find there was now a security agent of +11 quality open to me. So I pack up my shit into my ships (T1 Caracal for combat, T1 Cormorant for salvaging/looting) and jump 16 systems away to set up shop in this new base. And what do I get for my first mission? The Blockade. Sweet mother of fucking Crom. 2 hours, 21 minutes to complete. Just over one thousand, nine hundred missiles fired. 41 *stacks* of loot. The dire assholes that chain-targetjam (from 180+ away) took 12-14 minutes of constant full bombardment from all 5 of my heavy launchers to take down. EACH. *cries Anyhow, it's been much easier since then. I'm working at just over standing 3.0 with the corp. I'll have Cruiser 3 tomorrow morning, and already have 2 higher-end Cruisers in the hanger waiting. I'm still trying to get my head around manufacturing and research in this game though...what little I have read about it just doesn't seem to make much logical sense when compared with what I find in game. That, and from what I can tell, I have to wait in line for a fucking MONTH to even make a small 100-unit production run of the heavy missiles I won't need anymore by then. *sigh* I've gotta be reading this part wrong. Anyhow, Etiam Maior is my ingame handle. Just blowing shit up and salvaging, figuring things out as I go along. |

+27 Internets | Heh, yeah that's a kick to the jewels, especially early on. Myself, once I earned the SP to do Blockades easier (think Lvl3s were the last ones I did), it was a complete loot pinata. Before that though, it was such a grind, a pita, and a threat to my ship that Blockade was actually a worse mission to take (profit over time) than a slew of easier and quicker missions were. |

Maybe this only works easily for minmatar in level 3s.

| the mission goes alot faster if you are careful not to keep triggering waves. My first level 3 mission in my drake was blockade, and I kept blowing up the wrong ship until I had like 30 or 40 ships spawned. My fault for not paying attention. Got to the point where I Was about 200km away from mission's warp in from kiting so far.

| Yup. But the end of it, I had wrecks strewn across ~240KM of space. I don't have a MWD installed, but I was still warping from one end to the other every so often to let cap + shields recharge. I found that a Caracal can warp at 152+KM doing that mission. I must confess, however, that I am unsure about what are the 'trigger' ships, Gav. Like you said, I had upwards of 30 pirates spawned at several points. What's the clue for desciphering the trigger ships? I haven't seen it yet. |
