| Yeah after the nanoship nerf the BS's are a little closer to sanity. The phoon must've taken a bigger hit though, I haven't seen a reduction in Domi numbers (been up since those empire heists actually, and those WERE nanodomis) but I haven't seen many phoons since the nerf. The only good thing about the Hyperion is its looks. |

| Ive considered crosstraining to gallente to fly a hyperion. It is a nice looking ship. It does fine in fleet engagements too, so its not entirely useless, but its extra price kills the fun for a lot of people. |

| I agree on their being problems w/ the teir 3's for fleet combat: Maelstrom: Little more dmg than a Tempest. Slightly better tank. Too f'in expensive. (+ looks IMO) Tempest still better overall IMO. Rohk: Woot I can hit at 250km like pre rev! Ah shit. I can't oudamage a rail Dominix Bonus for being the only real fleet option for Caldari. Abbadon: Gotta use a cap booster and rigs to fire for any sustained amount of time. Sucks when other amarr fleet ships don't need to use one and can carry loot / useful things like spare ammo for other ppl etc. Hyperion: Not bad at all. Megathron's just better at it and cheaper.

But yeah, playing (and distorting) the market can be vast amounts of fun. It's very probably the only part of EvE pve that doesn't blow chunks. When I was but a wee Caldari lad with 150k ISK and <2m SP to my name, I decided I would rather take my own life with a wheat thresher than shoot explodey pellets at another gerbil-thing for bounty money. So I trained Industrial I, parked myself in Jita and fired up Excel. By two months' time I had made several hundred million, lost twice that amount on speculation, had filled countless spreadsheets with inane number scribbling, and had wasted many a paid hour at work. It was glorious. Everything interconnected, every player wired to a central node, shadowy digits chasing each other across dark corners of the universe and an entire world in the cusp of your hand. (Totally not a geek.) Last edited by Tirinal : 05-10-2007 at 02:05 AM.

| Another question for people who do Covert Ops-y shit (exploration mainly, I don't really want to fight with it at all as I will be rigging it and loading it up with T2 stuff I will probably not be able to afford to lose): I was thinking yesterday that if I go down the Gallente path, I might be best off taking their Frigates to V and using a Taranis for my interceptor. But that would mean that I'd have to use a Helios rather than a Cheetah for Covert Ops in order to save a lot of training time. On paper, the Helios looks rather impressive, since it lacks the largely useless (from what I understand) third high slot and gains an extra medium. The big drawback seems to be speed on the Helios, though it seems like they can both break 2500m/s without too much trouble. So, Helios just as viable, or no? |

Complexes. Ratting in 0.0. Exploration. Market manipulation. A corpmate spotted a price inconsistency on a tech 1 module, selling for 80,000 isk difference in two different spots. That's not a lot individually, but when you buy/build 1000 of the said modules, it adds up when you sell...80 million if he just buys and moves them, more if he builds them. Add the fact that this is done while primarily afk.... Invention (prices have dropped a lot, but still good coin to be made). Scamming! ![]()
