Answering some of the questions people have asked. If you're sitting at 7 mil skillpoints and have nothing to do, chances are you aren't interacting with anyone outside of missions. Interacting is a big part of this game, whether it be blowing the crap out of someone or forming a group of friends to mine/manufacture or go out and have some fun pvp'ing. The best thing in this game that's happened to me is joining a good small group of pvp-oriented pilots with a JC in lowsec for empire and an alliance base in 0.0 for making money.

As for the larger "good alliances" there's really nothing better about them than any smaller corp. No, you can't go out and raid for a while like in wow and expect to get in. For instance, if I really wanted to I could get into ASCN right now, just because I know who I could ask, I have a decent skill setup, but more importantly, I can follow orders, have a good reputation and outstanding real pvp experience (not virtual SP crap) BoB, on the other hand, are a shitload of elitist pricks Aka, you can join by invite only, no requirements are really listed and you shouldn't expect to be able to get in. There are alot of corps like the first two.

Just a quick example, in my alliance we have 4-5 member corps, my particular corp is the dedicated pvp wing. While the more industry-oriented or much older more casual pvp/miner protection-oriented corps in the alliance have slightly selective open-door recruitment policies, CDSN is fairly exclusive: IE: Don't expect to apply at the office and get accepted. Fight us in a battle first, be respectable and a good sport, exhibit some skill, and prove you're a decent individual and then inquire and we'll likely consider you.

As a starting player, the best use of your GTC'd isk are implants to speed up training. If you waste it on ships you'll have some fun watching your 30$ blow up.

Yup, alliances generally never stop recruiting ppl. A lot of corps are putting a minimum skill points requirement though.

You guys with 7+ million SP who can't do threes and fours- what ships and fittings are you using? I'm running all but the hardest fours now with 5 million sp, 2.1 million being in learning.

Probably it's a matter of not using the right tool for the job.

AKA if you plan to mission run seriously train for a raven - now.

The EVE Mon program that is linked in the original post. Use the save function and export to html, txt or xml.

EVE Mon also lets you export to a png file I just noticed. That's pretty cool.

Use the export to xml function from the eve site, then upload it here:

It should probably go without saying, but half the appeal of a raven for mission 4s is missile launchers being able to fit any payload type. All rat factions deal a predetermined type of damage and are vulnerably to a predetermined type of damage. It makes a huge difference and it's remarkable how many people aren't wise to it. Don't slap on kinetics by default and fly merrily along your way, secure in a Caldari sense of superiority.

Or you could just be like me and NPC hunt in stealth bombers when lazy. Cloaks + stupid AI = win.

Easiest way to get going level 4 mission wise is a nosadomi in my opinion =)

You don't need much sp for it and it can beat pretty much any mission with np if you are not completly stupid or unable to think about proper fittings.

I'm about to bust 9mil SP and run lvl 3's in a Raven.

http://ineve.net/skills/character.php?charID=805920552

Top Slots:

6 Cruise Launchers
1 Tractor
1 Heavy NOS

Mid Slots:

6 T2 Shield Extenders

Low Slots:

1 Shield Power Relay
4 T2 Power Distrobution Systems

I just upgraded to the T2 Extenders, before those I had 6 Regolith Large Extenders. I also use T2 Drones. Prior to some of my T2 improvements, this was still a solid setup for running lvl 3's and in most cases, overkill.

Unless I get stupid and aggro an entire room at once, I never have to run.

I would not reccomend this setup for lvl 4's, go with an active tank. The advantages of this setup is I lose very little time in station dinking with my rig, I get my mission and go. No loading the right rat specific resist, etc. I carry enough missiles in my bay to cover every damage type and on level 3's, mission specific drones are not much of an issue.

I don't reccomend BC's. All the the slowness, less shield, less cap, less grid, less hull, less armor. Pony up the dough for a BS and you will be happier if your doing PVE missions. BC's have their place, but if I had it to do over, I would have skipped the Ferox and gone straight to the Raven.

btw, lvl 4's are quite a bit more risky solo, even in a BS.

Switch those shield extenders to a XLarge Shield Booster, a shield boost amp, and mission specific hardeners and you'll be good to go for level 4s.

EDIT: Also use some BCS's

Yeah, got all the gear for that, just choose not to on lvl 3's cause I'm lazy. I've run lvl 4's and like I said, would not reccomend this rig for that.

My mission running is to get slavers missions so I can farm the Omber. Just building bank/skills till I move to 0.0

Oh, and the show missing skills link on that website, awsome.
