With the advent of server transfers, it doesn't matter if you burn half your guild out every dungeon. There are always people willing to pony up to be among the best. From our rather unique perspective it can be very frustrating at times, but it definitely raised the overall player quality in the uberguilds that chose to recruit.

And yes, 70% nonburnout is way way better than a 99% burnout. About midway through Naxx we started worrying about our people who are too hardcore and taking some preventative measures to avoid burnout. Yes, progression has probably suffered because of it. We're probably going to end up the third US horde guild to kill the last couple bits of Naxx, and we're probably going to be ~30th worldwide as opposed to the top 10s we pulled on everything prior. *shrug* In the end it's still a game, still fun, and that's what's important.

I wonder if some of these people have undiagnosed aspergers or something similar.

Heh, some of the stuff he said was pretty spot on, mostly wrt being a leader and knowing that some of your loyal and valuable raiders are basically losing at life to play the game.

I personally know people in my guild that really need quit WoW and go focus on other stuff. People will seriously put in 60-90 hours a week, mess up their lives, and then quit the game completely leaving me with a hole in my raid I need to feel. It'd be better if they had just put in the 30 required (like I am doing) and get their real lives sorted out.

these people are all one step from Jerry Springer or Dr.Phil turnaround stories. Chances are they were losers before they started gaming obsessively.

Unless someone from Blizz was standing behind him with a gun saying "Play WoW 14 hours a day or your fucking head get's splatterd", then he made the choice to fuckup and ignore his life for WoW. Same with all those other tards claiming WoW ruined their lives.

So, I'm in T1 and have not done BWL or Naxx and don't sit exalted with any faction, so the fuck what. I got other shit to do, I play and have fun. I also didn't even start raiding again untill after Naxx was already out, but still finished a T1 set, few epic weapons and still farm and PvP.

60 levels, 30+ epics, a few really good "real life" friends, a seat on the oldest and largest guild on our server's council, 70+ days "/played," and one "real" year later...
Jesus, pussy ass n00bs complaining about time commitment. I really do feel like the old man who walked both ways in the snow barefoot to school every day after playing EQ1 for so long. 70 days played? Please, come back and whine when you have over 1 YEAR /played.

You know, even if you ruin your life, I don't understand this defeatist attitude of "oh my god it's all over I lost at life, everything is gone", you can always get back up and make things right for yourself. It's you all the way.
