As I wander through the new commonlands the thought occured to me that EQ not only has some nice looking new (and redone) zones but that many of the other graphics have aged well. Not everything mind you and in particular the character graphics have not aged well but in general EQ is quite aways beyond shit eye-gouging graphics.

The good news is that you're still alive. The bad news is that that's the good news. Also, you have no legs.

Yes, but how else is our pragmatic newcomer supposed to make a name for himself without blowing everything out of proportion and attempting to be incredibly original by using over the top violence for comedic effect?

Really, after that post no one will forget the name of that guy.

Without Curt, Brad or Gall ect. this board would be nothing.

That amuses me - if the devs never posted here, this board would still be exactly what it is. I'm greatful that they actually do post here, and we're not forced to speak to them on their infested with shill forums that they all respectively own. But lets be realistic - everyone started posting here as a common grounds for the high end EQ raiding community, and it has evolved (or some would say devolved) into something wholly different.

Very well said. Developers are not Gods, their text is not Gospel, and the more you worship them, the more they start to believe it.

Thats just not a healthy thing, truly.

I don't know. Something just strikes me as them not being able to know how to disseminate information. Have you seen the crappy joinvanguard.com site? Vanguard is 2-4 months from release (if they're still aiming for Q1) and that pitiful site is the one they choose to attach to all their advertisements? If I knew nothing about the game, how in the world does that site make me want to buy the game? Oh boy, because they have unicorn mounts? The official site isn't much better.

As I've complained about before: Where's the information about classes and races? Where's the information about housing? Tradeskills? Combat? Is it any surprise most of us are relying on information from NDA breakers? It's not like Sigil has put that information in an easy to access place. Why should I go out of my way when I can hear what people have to say on sites I already frequent rather than doing the scavenger hunt that Sigil has set up? I can understand them being guarded a couple years ago, early in the process, but it seems like it's gotten to the point now where the being secretive starts to look as if they're doing it for different reasons or that they just don't see it as important.

I support this post. There isn't enough official information coming from Vanguard given the supposed release in March. We should know much much more about the game at this point.

I agree with Tad, the information black hole is most disturbing.

OK...

What I'm gonna give today is a lesson how to present an unbiased arguement. Now some of you here seem to think that you arent being hateful against vanguard at every turn, when you inded are. I belong to a relatively large group of the population. We are what you would call fence sitters statistically speaking. We are interested in information about a game, but we wont make a conclusion until the game is released, and the majority of us tend to keep our opinions to ourselves. When you make a statement that shows a tendancy to be predisposed to hate a game, you will basically be ignored by someone like me. So I'm gonna help you learn not to make an arguement which shows such a disposition.

First off, We dont give a shit what you think something might mean to us. We have our own fucking brains, and make our own decisions. If your gonna conclude something for us and want us to listen, you have to do it in a way that is cleverly insulting yet at the same time witty. Nobody here has that talent, so we can skip over that completely. Let me give an example.

Vanguard runs with low fps on my computer [specs given]. Im concerned about certain areas... This is an example of an opinion that doesnt inflict a result on the user. With a message presented like this, we can decide for ourselves if we could be effected by something like this

THIS SHIT IS BROKEn. U FUKED LESS YOU BUY IBM 2 RUN LAWLThis is an example of you telling me it wont work.

The technical term of what you are doing is called warranting. You are assuming the warrant that I dont own IBM and have access to a supercomputer. Furthermore, you havent given us a more detailed explination of what exactly your problem is, so we dont have any reasonable vantage point of where we may stand. A comment like this is of little use to someone following the game and must be ignored. Furthermore, try not to make extended absolutes such as "theres no way they can fix this." The proper thing to say would be "They are going to need to work hard to finish."~.

Now good sirs, where are the pictures of the revamp vulmanes. I believe that was the next race in line, and I consider it one of the bigger challenges ahead of them. Im looking forward to see how they worked that race over to judge the whole process with- but the lack of information on the revamps has concerned me.

^^ Now thats some fucking beautiful shit. If someone of you started posting your concerns more like this, people like me might take you seriously.

That really sounds uncomfortable, I mean usually, fences have sharp points (ala picket, barbed, wire mesh etc etc.) Speaking as someone who does not sit on the fence (ouch) I can assure you that the water is just fine. Go ahead and jump in with the rest of us, we won't let you drown as you take a side, speak your mind, make a stand and follow what you believe to be true.

It's okay Dildo, it really is.

Trust me !

Well to be fair, WoW is advertising on TV these days. VG has decent visibility in the gamer community.
