| So it is okay for a game ot have shitty and unrealistic graphics? The one thing that always makes me laugh here is reading people bitch about minute details in vanguard shots, and then praise wow for its art. My fucking gnome head sticks through peoples bodiee; my weapons can go through walls. "OH BUT ITS THE STYLE"!!! What, the style is mediocrity? Don't get me wrong. I am not bashing on WoW's graphics. Personally, it doesn't bother me at all - much like the small problems in vanguard shots dont - but to see the same people praise wow graphics while ripping on every detail of vanguards is getting a bit old. To make it worse, these people try and play off their obvious bias by saying "wow has its own "style" so the urealistic, and half-ass graphics fit that!". |

+1 Internets | I think they look really nice. Compared to most games out there, this is above average in my book. I've been playing a lot of Oblivion lately and could only dream those people looked like these. I just think people like to nitpick because they can, and they know their voices dont fall on deaf ears here. |

| Dunno, but this debate over styles is beyond me. What's worse, cartoon-style graphics that look like cartoons or realistic graphics that look cold and actually quite unrealistic? What's worse, character models showing emotions that make them look alive or player models without facial expressions staring into nowhere like they are on drugs? I mean yes, WoW graphics are not as technically advanced as Vanguard graphics, but does it do Vanguard any good? Sigil used super high-end technology to create mediocre results, that's the message and it is very sad.

Just sit back, and accept that it doesn't really matter, and the end result of a world which looks, feels, and (most importantly) plays cohesively, and like it "should", is more important than discussing the merits of the style behind the art itself. Quote:
Anyways, the biggest problem I have with most of the screenshots and artwork that has been released, is not the style it's done in, or the art direction of the particular shot, but the textures and lighting themselves. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you need real artists. Especially texture artists. | ||

| Ok so my guild finally (after months of waiting) got into the beta. The first thing we noticed is that a good system is required to play at reasonable to high settings. It's just that simple. The game was pretty good as I haven't tested anything above level 5. The NPCs look ugly to me, personally but the movement is nice. One thing that bothered me is you can't see under water :/ |
