+58 Internets | Nobody is talking about robes, we're talking about armor. Of course if you ask how many robe patterns could I possibly want I seem like a illogical player. I'm talking about getting something in return for dealing with the incredible shitty unibody design besides a new texture slapped on a same armor model. And would you explain to me why I couldn't just slap a texture on and expect it to look good? These are supposed to be professionals, if you have a good design and a good texture you're building based on a design it should not be something who does this for a living. |

The screenshot of the Dreadknight they released a long while back was an awesome example of a fairly unique geometry for the armor. But yeah, if they're only creating half a dozen geometry sets for the armor, and all variation will be either re-texturing or re-tinting (a la EQ), then that's awfully gay. | |

| Well, they said the initial reason was to use unibodies to be able to introduce more different armor sets. That doesn't mean that someone has already designed those. They have the option to use lots of different armor sets, but they also need to make use of it. Judging from the high priority stuff they have to complete before they can focus on the lesser things, I would say that it will take a while before we get to see all that different armor. So far unibodies have been nothing but a cheapo. You got low quality bodies and a small amount of armor which combines for worst of both worlds ![]()

| Models look too Vanguard. :P But in all seriousness, the game models just aren't doing it for me. I didn't care much for the EQ2 models either though.

| If Sigil had never mentioned that the unibody system was the one they used I doubt anyone would have figured out that that was the case. Though they might have noticed something... maybe not quite right. Unibody can be a perfectly workable system. How well it works is dependent upon how many different "parts" (I'm struggling for the right word) the body has. Each body could be made up of 20,000 (or whatever) different parts and each part exists on all different racial body types. It seems like maybe there isn't enough "parts" on Sigil's system to allow for enough differentiation. If you took a human-shaped figure made up of 20k parts and morphed it into a gnome-shaped figure all 20k parts would still be there but smaller and in slightly different positions. Maybe there's not enough emphasis on the differences in each part of the body for each racial type. I dunno. Quote:

| The armor looks fantastic and is almost Korean MMO quality. The rest of it I can take or leave, but the armor is very impressive.

| I'm hoping someone that plays or works over there can answer this question... Are all casters in VG forced to wear a dress (aka robe) if they want to use the medium-high quality loots? This is one thing I hate about WoW. For raiders 5 out of 9 classes have to wear dresses. |

| I love the armor, I think the faces are well done and definitly in the better end of the spectrum when compared to other games that try to use 'realistic' faces... way way way better than EQ2 atleast.. better than oblivion too imo but that game was hit or miss depending on the race. If unibody means we get 3x the number of armor textures then its good IMO... if it also means we dont have to deal with some races looking terrible in armor then its even better... sure wows system is great if you are an orc or a human but fuck if you play a troll or undead its so gay how half the armor looks like absolute shit on you with shit like your jaw sticking out of your hood and other BS. The brown is borderline... it doesnt look bad for a 'boring field area' type place but they sure as hell better have some more exotic colorful areas in the game... fuck if i wanna grind out lvls in a brown cave fighting brown ants. Hopefully they take a note from EQ SOL and WOW in that regard... |

| I've never seen it for myself, but I knew a guy that stepped away from his computer and went outside for a brief moment. He said stuff like dirt and trees were mostly brown. I can't prove anything, obviously. |

+1 Internets | Could someone fill me in on what the hell 'soulless' means in this context? Maybe use a different word, or give me some shots of some models WITH soul or something, cause I don't get it.
