+3 Internets | I played some DAOC and DF when it was both PVE and RvR because ownership had switched was fun. WoW needs to find a way to have some PVE/PVP combined content that is interesting, because Sithilus and EPL isn't doing it. |

| Btw, the minotaur model is disappointing: ![]() Standard troll model with a different head plugged in. No tail, no hoof. Probably no dedicated animations either. | wow that model is really sad ![]() It must of taken like 10 min to just re-head the ogre model and call it a day. Glad I dont pay Mythic for that garbage anymore ![]() er... and thats Infiltrator epic armor I think. Are they really going to let a race that obviously is going to be VERY strong be an assassin? /cry for casters. |

+1 Internets | What. The. Fuck. Infiltrator Mino's would be sooo insanely overpowered. Actually, Shadowblade Minos would be insanely overpowered. If they let minos be Infs, they would SB's etc. SB's with Slash spec (which encompasses 2handers) and being able to wield two 2handers (one in each hand)... hello huge 1k non crit perfs with 400dmg offhand. Hello unbalanced stealth game (swinging from 1 side to the other). Just wow.. =X

+4 Internets | Is it really that surprising though? I would be amazed if they had more than a small handful of people still working on DAoC. They aren't a big company last I checked. At this point, I would think the vast majority of their resources are being poured into the Warhammer game. |

+1 Internets | Actually they made a post a while back saying that they were increasing the development staff for DAoC, not downsizing it. I don't get the hate on the model but I haven't played since pre Catacombs so I don't see them just replacing the head on a model. PS. lol at the hair

| For about 2 years DAOC was a truly good MMORPG PvP game. That's 2 years longer than most other games. Second on Darkness Falls being a great addition to the game, although I think it was by accident, and largely not due to the efforts of Mythic's clueless content designers. The reason that it was a great zone was because it combined PvP and PvE into one zone. By being a great place to get items and xp, and also heavily contested, it created an encounter area that was relevant and fun. It was what the frontiers should have been when DAOC started, before Mythic decided to separate pvp and pve zones to try to please both crowds and failing on both levels. |

| Another major problem I had with DAOC that is more of a philosophical game issue than a technical one is the "feature creep" that DAOC gained with each new expansion. Ironically, all the master levels, relics, new abilities, super special class specific RRs, and other Monty Haul features ruined the game imo. "But Awanka, isn't having more options a good thing?" Not necessarily. Look at great pvp games like Counterstrike; they only have a few abilities. A good pvp game relies on a simple set of abilities and features. The skill is in the technique and execution. |

+1 Internets | I kind of liked RAs.. those were great, becuase you got them from PvPing, not so you could PvP. ML's, Artifacts, and those are what really killed it for me. It really was awesome getting the levels out of the way (1-50) finding an SC'er, and armorcrafter/weaponcrafter, and getting your gear and template made, and then going to RvR. That was it. 1-50 was like 3-4 days of PL, and about 20p for the gear. Made it easy to get into RvR. Then ML's and Artifacts came along. Not only did you have to do each ML in order (well, they are pretty lax now about it) and farm mobs for artifacts (again,t hey became more lenient on it) you had to then grind and level said artifacts (yea. they nerfed this too! little too late tho). So the 3-4 days of getting ready for PvP turned into over a month when you rerolled to play different classes/realms. And I know, some of you are going.. just a month? bah thats nothing. and it isnt, really, but when you have a game like DAoC, where you play 1 realm for a while, get rr6-7, and reroll to try another realm (for variety) it does kind of grind on you. Staying 1 realm isnt very fun because its only 1/3rd of the game really =x Also have to remember that PvE was not the reason you play DAoC. PvE sucked. Hard. =/
