| Vanguard High Settings -- Aghram Toggling a variety of the highest settings both in-game and without (turned anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering on to various settings from the desktop). To what extent these are working in Vanguard, you be the judge and see if you can tell. I know everything isn't hooked up yet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| I do want to add, and this applies to all four posts, that with everything turned on in-game and using the Catalyst ATI drivers, whether or not what is working now or not, the framerates were slow even on one of the fastest machines you can assemble today -- these were for testing purposes, too see if you guys can tell the difference, and to give you a glimpse as to what the game could look like for most players a while after release, when hardware and technology has caught up. But, regardless, it does demonstrate IMHO the Vanguard engine's capabilities even now how it is set up to take advantage of the future. And just think, these aren't even close to what the game will look like a year after launch or probably even 6 months. At the very least, it does perhaps illustrate my point elsewhere as to why we chose to go the route of using technology to aid us in creating immersive fantasy worlds. You may or may not like the art style, and there are undoubtedly flaws in my shots, but I can confidently say that this engine was designed with the future in mind and that some of that future you can even get a glimpse of today. | I absolutely love the night sky, dont care much for the models and i personally think the whole idea of a sword with flames is so out dated. Maybe if the fire actually dripped on to the ground and left some lil small fires as you ran that would add some new cool factor to it. Honestly though is this all we can expect from game developers, why not more EQ epic style weapons with fancy and elaborate and hell even class oriented particle effects for weapons (streaming musical notes comes to mind for bards from EQ). Why not a freezing blade where frost not only engulfs the sword but swirls around it or something. I mean dont get me wrong but i cant honestly think no one on this site hasnt seen a flaming sword with about at least 5 different variations. I know it might seem im knit picking but if you want people to play this game, show us stuff other people haven't did before. I have no doubt your spell particles will be amazing, the scenary will be great. I just honestly doubt the models, animations and from what your wearing armor graphics. Take some of the armor we wouldnt see unless we had been raiding for 6 months in the game on a character with some bad ass weapon and then FRAPS it. |

![]() But yeah, videos are where it is at. As much as I want a video as the next person, I rather see a video that has near-finalized animations and actual combat footpage that is longer than 3 seconds. That may be a while given that it is the beginning of phase 3 but it'll be worth it. Sigil would be wise to not release any more videos unless they meet that mark. But as for overview videos of areas we have not seen or something, that is fine ![]()
