Brad :

Any idea on Customizable UI's? at least just the look and feel ala EQ and WoW?

How many hotkeys can you change? (can you change them all?)

Cool

Awesome screenshots. Very detailed, showing environment and characters. Yep... Going to avoid the haters' remarks now

Could we get an estimate of what level Aradune is or at least the level those items would be obtainable (specifically: the particle effects). I don't believe we've seen that kind of armor (leather) or cloak with that much detail either, details sir!

Oh, and good idea getting the dual blades Aradune. It was about time!

Those are MUCH better than the last ones. The close-in ground cover and terrain is getting a lot better and the armour looks very nice. The textures in the prayer room are also much better than the gumby low-rez ones from that dock. Not so sure about the targeting circles, would need to see it in motion I think.

One positive - I like the minimalist UI with plain colours (ie black writing on parchment coloured background). Please resist the urge to allow one of your "artistes" to turn it into a smorgasbord of technicolour vomit like some UIs and keep it simple as is.

One negative - the font and look of the hovering names for PCs/NPCs are ass. I have no smart suggestions other than "change it" (and get rid of the a's and an's).

Ut, you're an assmonkey sometimes, I would agree with you wholeheartedly that the previous dock shot sucked but these just don't. Credibility from reasonableness ftw.

Any idea when you're going to add a later of shadowing to the world? I really like those big leafy plants in the dual shots, but it irks me that it's as light as anywhere else under that plant.

The weapons still look like they've been made of voxel(tm). Maybe stick a few shaders on them, or just a diffirent texture. I like the models btw.

Rest of it looks decent enough.

The texturing in the prayer room seems better then other wooden building shots I've seen.

Hey Brad, do you know of anyone running the game on a macbook pro (in windows mode) and if it preforms well?

Believe it or not, I would rather tell you how much I like the game and the screenshots. At least you know I am not some lemming ass kisser like 70% of the faggots in this thread because you design a video game for a living.

You're talking about a city in Qaila showing a huge harbor, and even THAT looked empty and uninspired. The dungeons you have showed so far do nothing to drag me in atmospherically. They look like caves with huge bugs added to them. Maybe you should show some gameplay videos or shots of you in action in that haunted manor... Look all around you in those shots. I see absolutely no POI's for virtual miles, especially in the flyover you posted. Those shots of Qaila with aboslutely nothing seen in any distance, even with what looks like a decent clip plane drawn out, looks like something randomly spewn from the same terrain generator of SWG. If you want, I can grab a screenshot quick and compare the two - although that would mean reinstalling SWG and my hard drive is allergic.

I understand that MMORPG's are different, but I am running Oblivion at around 75-80% @ 1680X1050, AMD 3400, 1 Gb Ram, and a 6800 GT video. There hasn't been a single screenshot I have taken that hasn't blown anything I have seen in Vanguard out of the water. That still isn't taking into account a rag doll physics system and HDR, which from what I understand will not be in Vanguard. (Correct me if I am wrong)

You have about half the systems in place right now, and what you are saying is you are running the game in 19X12 on a $2,500 machine at medium settings and getting by with average frame rates. After 5 years of development. How the hell are you expecting anyone to run this game with even low settings when it comes time to raid and group?

You'll be better off with your marketing technique here if you start posting some group action shots in that manor, because that is about the only positive thing I have heard come out of any beta tester's mouth. But even then, all that goes to the wayside because the animation system looks terrible in that doctored trailer, (And the video I received from a beta tester) so I cannot imagine it looking any better right now. Did you even add the new animation system yet? Or was that all talk.

Edit: Until then, just to show you "I am not all dollars and cents", it's good that you are finally looking at some gameplay mechanics that are flat out broken and redesigning those. Right now if I am not going to see any gameplay videos and be inundated with lifeless screenshots, I would rather see you come here with an "FoH Exclusive" pertaining to an element of gameplay in the game once per week that will illustrate the fixes to the death system, XP loss, show some actual island shots, the content on those islands... Show the pace of combat. Last I saw, the beta tester that sent me the video actually cut out about 30-45 seconds of fighting ONE bug at a newbie level because even the newbie fights were taking about 50 seconds. Has that been altered yet? I damn near fell asleep watching that, and that was at the tail end of beta 2.

QFT.

As for the shots, I think the outdoor ones look great. The inside ones aren't terrible by any means, I just don't think they look as good as the others.

Really looking forward to combat/gameplay videos and information, seeing as that's the part of the game I truly care about

First fight (mutant frog) in that video lasts 12 seconds. Third fight (ant) 27 seconds. Last fight (mutant fog) lasts 15 seconds. All the other fights were edited and you really could not see how long they lasted. I just don't see how you could confidently say he removed 30-45 seconds from the fights.

The animations in that movie was also not nearly as weak as I would have expected. The running animation needed work and there was fighting animations missing, but the mobs had pretty good animations. The movie actually impressed me because I thought the game was in a much worse state.

Also lets be clear. The movie is 2 1/2 months old so your sources aren't all that up to date.

Because he told me.

And those animations sucked. Those of the mobs were horrible as well.

But we do not have to worry about that right? Because there is a new animation system right?

He may have told you, but based on what I saw of the fights he didn't edit I'd say he was exaggerating pretty badly. I don't see why it takes 27 seconds to kill an ant, and the next one suddenly takes 50 seconds. Then again, he hid the UI so you really had no idea what he was doing either with the animations being missing and all. Looked like he was chain casting one spell the whole fight through.

Listen to the music skip if you have the video still. It's pretty blatantly obvious what was cut and where it was cut.
