Screenshots are looking nicer and nicer. Unfortunately one thing persist the consistently just bothers me. Am I the only one that gets annoyed by this whole obsession with make water so clear you can always see to the bottom of it despite the depth/angle? Is there any dirty water in this world? Are the oceans in VG also doing the same thing, always able to see to the very bottom with pretty decent clarity? I know it's a little thing to nitpick on, all the other aspects of the game(visually) are coming along nicely in my opinion and I generally ALWAYS have a distaste for realistic looking environments and models.

Graphics look vastly improved, and I know a lot more detail will be in before release, but so far it's looking better. Gameplay is still difficult to ascertain, especially from just still photos, but I hope there is enough differential from the current crop of MMORPGs (WoW, EQ2, etc), otherwise there will not enough draw to make people switch or share time between 2 games, and I'm not sure how big a pool of players are left who are still waiting to try their first MMORPG....seems like WoW sucked most of those up. One minor quip, just so it doesn't go to retail without a remark.....the character name and guildname tags look underwhelming. I don't know if it's the font, font size....but it seems very generic. Again, probably that way because it's beta, but I hope it becomes something more eye-catching before release. Minor point, the graphics look like they are progressing well, I hope the "low high end" machines will be able to handle the game.

Still looks complete ass. Aside from one of the outdoor shots. The entire world design looks terrible, barren, and stale. There is no personality, character, or style in any of the world shots. Not to mention a complete lack of atmosphere. That first Qaila shot looks like someone did it up in water colors. Honestly, I look at all those and I am reminded of what it would be like to explore Naboo. Just how barren is the world right now anyway? The outdoor shots remind me of exploring SWG. Nothing to see, find, or do, while running around a completely barren randomly generated land mass. Save new plant life, but the grass looks almost exactly the same as well. And honestly, most people will be lucky if they can run the game in 1280X1024 medium settings, not to mention 19X12 at Medium... For that resolution those look absolutely God Awful. And I am trying to be as nice here as I can. Last edited by Utnayan; 08-23-2006 at 01:27 AM..

Looks good. I'm going to be giving vanguard a shot because a lot of good friends on the net are going to when it comes out. Looking forward to see how it comes up against the other new mmos coming out near the same time. Old eq was a ton of fun for me, and this game is my hope for recapturing that spirit while advancing the gameplay. There's still a lot that looks like it needs done, but I'll assume you guys are still in beta for that reason.

Well, to sate our cureosity. Would you mind telling us the specs on your computer aradune? I realize its not optomized yet, and that you probably have a beast of a computer that you run this on, especially with a monitor that large- Resos going that high can be painful on comps. Btw, I have respect for a developer who would subject themselves to this forum to appeal to fans. We may be mmo fans in the most part, but we arent exactly the most positive crowd. You're openess here is one of the most attractive features of vanguard to me personally. It tells me you care about the community, and would actually find out and care about problems in your games. Some other mmos, well, they just dont.
