| EQ Zone Viewer? I quit EQ some time ago back when Omens of War was released and in the mean time about 4 or 5 expansions have come out, each adding half a dozen new zones, monster models and its fair share of revamps to old zones. So I've been meaning to explore all that but obviously that'd be tough since I'm lacking about 500 flags, keys and other various nice ways to get into places, let alone survive in them. Does anyone know if there is an EQ equivalent to WoW MapViewer that could allow you to travel freely in EQ zones? Even better, does anyone know if there is such a program that ALSO spawns the NPCs so you can see the mob positionning, models, and all that? That'd be great, thanks in advance! |

+3 Internets | Spawn locations are server side so you cannot have mobs in a offline viewer (unless someone spent the time to put them there by hand).

+2 Internets | Yeah there was a zone viewer that, if I remember correctly, was the EQ tutorial but it was 'hacked' so you could use it with any zone. 1st result on google, http://sourceforge.net/projects/eqmaps , looks underdeveloped though |

+2 Internets | You simply got the hex code to the tutorial, and somewhere in there was the name of the map. You just replaced it with whatever map you wanted to load and youd be there. I dont know if the old tutorial is still there, but if it is, just do that. |

+7 Internets | There is a program out there called EQZoneViewer. Last I checked the mirrors to download it were down, though I think I have it on one of my hard drives. So if the website is still down and you really want it you can send me a PM. It can only view zones up through GoD, after that Sony adopted a different format for zones and it hasn't been updated to view those. Basically you can load up the zone and fly around in "ghost form" (so you can go through walls and float in the air and stuff). You can also turn on collision but since it doesn't actually use EQ's code its a little buggy (you can't fall, for instance, unless its a short fall like stairs. The version I'm talking about isn't the one that used the old Tutorial program.

the zones are: Dreadspire and Demi-Plane of Blood, in DoDH expansion Theater of Blood and Deathkeel, in Prophecy of Ro if you willing to explore, nothing stops you.

+9 Internets | I dunno. I read it as "I've been gone since OOW and want to see the new stuff". But yeah, if he owns the expansions, there isn't much you can't go explore. Especially if you have a FD class. |
