QFT. This is the only part of 1.12 I care about. Being able to rank up in a non-insane fashion is crucial to making pvp interesting.

Blizzard needs to grow a pair and stop worrying about quest NPCs being killed.

Heres an idea: remove dishonor from PvP servers only, then reward players who kill leader NPCs in towns. I.e. that badass elite NPC in the middle of TM.

I'm willing to bet a lot of avid PvPers want there to be some sort of actual loss from not defending territory, and gain for successfuly sieging it. If it is causing too much whining, then make it for PvP servers only. They signed up for it.

All the outdoor shit mentioned in that article will ever be used for is by uber guilds just prior to guild raids, unless they reward some serious honor for doing them, which you KNOW won't happen.

I was really hoping for some real alternative to cross-server BGs, because they will completely obliterate the last shred of community WoW has left as far as PvP is concerned. Although I do look forward to the Alliance crying over queues again.

Well, like you said, population imbalance makes that OP a short-sighted moron. What most of the people in that thread are asking for is Shadowbane, and that game made it pretty clear how long a pvp system with so few restrictions can remain popular. There is nothing in MMO pvp that a zerg cannot overcome.

I remember PVP battles in Shadowbane where it was 500 attackers vs. 70 defenders in a high ranked town. The city only eventually fell when a bug occured that gave the attackers an advantage.

Underwhelming and extremely light PVP. Once again we see a system with no real loser.

This is hopefully just them putting their foot into the pool to test the water. Based on how well this goes we'll see more solid PVP systems in the game.

There really should have been a harder PVP server on release, where the hard PVP guilds would have gone. This server would have FFA PVP and lootable stuff of opponents. Also no safe zones. Man am I sick of seeing unflagged horde while I am taking over their city.

I'm really surprised that they have not made a few servers like this. Even EQ had lootable servers and ffa pvp servers. I think something like what you suggest would target a good portion of WoW players.

I think they want to cater to any paying customers they can. A 'red' pvp server would probably get enough traffic to warrant its existence, and at least there the pop imbalance wouldn't be so bad with FFA pvp ;D

I hope there are, at the least, some faction rewards for this crap.

The problem from Blizzards stand-point would be that it would likely only be 1 server with a different rules set than all of the others, requiring special patch adjustment and consideration. Maybe 2 at the most, but I think the fact that servers like that are ghost towns after a couple months in most games is a pretty good indication. To me, that sounds like something not worth supporting financially.

It's funny because it's true. BG's are awful and they really had no where to go but up. There really wasn't anything they could do that could be a serious downgrade from what we have now.

That being said, it sounds like a minor improvement.

Anything that's implimented will be bitched about. Also, If the people bitching implimented their own ideas not only would others bitch about how shitty they are, but they would be complete failures.

As proof feel free to post your own ideas here on this board. I promise you the rest of us pricks will pick it apart.

If the reputation is with CC and AD respectively, and not some crappy amount (below 75) every time you "win," then it's a start!
