It seems like the last several posters were trying to make this into a more complicated concept than it was intended as.
That's it. Fuck 15 hours a day grinding in AB when you can spend ~15 hours a week in BWL or whatever getting comparable/better gear.

You might be right about a brand new server, but then again starting completely over again is no longer appealing to me. Also, as you level passed 19 getting pvp action on a new server is not easy. You pretty much have to wait until the server itself catches up to you if you level fast.

And Quinloe, if by EASILY you mean playing 16 hours a day in a steamroll group.. then ok. That's not easily to me, perhaps you have alot of free time.

Cad the tard talking again

when 60k honor a week gets you a standing good enough for Rank 13, do you really have to steamroll 16 hours a day? Really?

I even linked you the fucking page, look at nephilim. Rank 10 and less than 5k HKs. Do you think that's a 16h/ day job?

About the altar of storms server, did these guilds start pre-made on the server? I think their progress is rather ineteresting..

BTW, the progression thread already is 7th of April. THAT is already more than 90 days ago.
and it was created by a level 60, so let's assume at least 2 weeks more.

so your example is pretty nil
(shittiest format for a prog thread ever btw)

The prog thread of the server I linked is from May 2nd and from a level 38 (one of the highest levels there, lets say one week passed)
BTW, That server has Generals TODAY, so a server that is 6 weeks older than that and doesn'T have Warlords fucking sucks at PVP

Err...

The progression thread was created on 07/04/06. That's July. It's not using the non-US dating mechanism.

I started on the server a week after it came up. It's less then 90 days old. Not gonna flame ya since it was an honest mistake.

The Alliance guild is from another server, less sure about the Horde one. I don't think they are.

Both guilds had to recruit massively. As in, MT had a core of guys (the Alliance one), maybe 10-30, but they recruited what seemed like everyone and their mother at one point. Again, more sketchy on the Horde one, Hate Plow, but I think they did the same thing.

Several NEW guilds on Alliance have already downed Rags and are on Vael as well.

I think what it shows is when you have a core of 10-20 (same as a pvp group basically), you can easily outpace any PvP group in the acquisition of gear. PvE is easier to gear up in and you can gear more people up in it.

Personally? I HATE how fast this server is moving. A friend on Blackwing Lair says the progression is a helluva lot slower there, so I think it's just that Altar of Storms has a lot more motivation.

they could have a rank 13 already. inactivity issues

These guys have 5x as many HKs, I bet they could have one R14 by now

No, they can't. They're all on the same PvP team. They're all on at the same time, and they probably haven't marked one to be HWL first, or if they have, they don't care.

I know Qpon and Skullz have traded #1 back and forth several times.

It takes a minimum of 13 weeks to hit HWL.

13 weeks > 90 days.

Server is less then 90 days old.

Just accept the fact that you gear up easier + quicker by PvE.

accept the fact that for this to be true, you need to blow through BWL in a pace that is mind blowing.

Nef down a few weeks after starting with raiding is insane.

Oh, I agree. It's ridiculous how fast a focused guild can do this on a new server.

However....multiple guilds ARE doing it *AND* even if the guild doesn't nail Nef, multiple guilds are hitting ZG/MC/part of BWL and gearing up far more people then a 10 man pvp would, faster.

PvP is the stupid way to gear up.

What server is getting you rank 13 with 60k honor per week? I call BS on that. To get rank 10 you probably need to average 200k per week on an average server. And understand a ton of time is wasted just WAITING for a BG to pop. Plus, you can't take a break. You take a break you lose ground.

Sorry, PvE is much less time consuming to gear up than pvp, and a heck of a lot less frustrating.

Not quite. Getting rank 8 is like, retardedly easy and it gets you 4 hella nice blues. PvPing AND raiding at the same time is the way to go. I'm certain that the PvP rewards (from rank and faction) are playing no small role in the rapid advancement on new servers.

Too bad 3 out of 7 classes don't benefit from the majority of pve gear at all - at least not if you're concerned with progression.

Warriors in Might/Wrath, Priests in Proph/Trans and Druids in Cenarion/whatevertheirstupidbwlsetis sure are a FEARSOME SIGHT ON THE BATTLEFIELD.

PvP + raiding is definitely the way to go, this way you benefit from both, and when R11+ feels attainable you can just drop raiding for a while and push the volume of your time into PvP.

As a warrior, rogue or shadowpriest - there really is no equivalent to getting R14 until well into AQ/Naxx.
