Didn't link up the last one, 4 is out. No game info yet, but still pretty cool.

it's a good gimmick idea to try and get funding, but I don't think anyone believes the game would be any good.

Sorta feel bad for the guy, he's definitely putting himself out there even if all he becomes a collosal failure. The odss of him getting this done outside of break even is remote, WoW numbers is an absolute long shot beyond comprehension.

His videos are just a scheme to generate advertising revenue... I'm sure it's working too.

Yer, i dunno why he ribbing them, they are obviously following the Romero school of games design by buying a mansion. All they need now is the marble floor reception area with the company logo inscribed in panda blood.

Because he is an asshole and a hack?

Perhaps he doesn't want other people to cash in on his fantastic idea of how a mediocre level designer that got fired because he developed an unhealthy obsession with his persona can become a "LEGENDARY Game Designer" with enough smoke and mirrors.

God, I hate that smug bastard.

Found this on John Romero's Wikipedia entry;

Quote:
On August 31, 2005, Romero confirmed that since leaving Midway he has been hard at work on a yet-to-be-announced MMOG at his newly opened development studio[2]. "For the record," Romero writes, "I'm co-founder of a new game company in the Bay Area and am much better off in many ways than I was at Midway." A shroud of secrecy lies over this mysterious company and its secret project, which he states, will not be revealed to the public until 2007.
Co-founder of a new game company, making a MMO, in the Bay area?

Hello! That fits all the criteria of Damon and his KAAOS game, in fact KAAOS sounds like a name John Romero would come up with.

Could be wrong, but it sounds to me like Romero is behind this as a huge publicity stunt. It's working too, whenever I watch one of those episodes I want to see the next.

The thing is about romero giving opinions on this particualr project is it is right on. I cant find any fault in his logic towards them being successfull. I want them to be successfull to make Romero look bad because of his past but the reality of that happening is so slim to none, its pathectic. I feel sorry for the guy trying to pull this off, he is obviously in a very negative point in his life and putting his energy into this goal is probale going to become the most negative experience in his life, more so than having his family ditch him. I wish him and his crew the best but, the mountain he wants to climb, is not only out of his reach in my opinion but he hasnt even looked at the summet from a distance.

*EDIT* I do hope Im wrong for him and his families sake but I do look at life with reality in mind.

That explains why he keeps saying it will suck.

I was thinking the same thing every time they would show Romero in the clips.

I think Romero is kind of like Vanilla Ice. He had a chart topper back in the 80's, but that was with a different group and in a different genre.

It's obviously great publicity for Damon to put himself out there, I'm sure it's hard to get funding from his situation.

Anyways, I'll try to get a mini-interview or something..
