wow paid xfers live in stages

initial xfers are
* Altar of Storms
* Argent Dawn
* Demon Soul
* Illidan
* Warsong
servers ONLY

rest of the servers coming online in a few days/weeks

gist:

$25 per xfer
5k max gold at 60th level-you xfer with all your stuff
pve to pve
pvp to pve or pvp
a char can only move once per 6 months

can move from account to account as well(provided you/ own the accounts

lovely...so, it works just like the old transfers, except you have to pay and you can choose from a list of servers thats what? probably 15-20 long. You probably only have a 3 day window too.

Also the eligibilty to transfer OFF a server is marked seperately for horde and alliance. Maybe they're actually going to do something about pop imbalance.

When I quit a few months ago I knew quite a few people with over 5k in my guild. One of our warlocks had 15k.

5k is really not much now. I run around with 2.5k and that is not doing really anything at all to increase my wealth and paying my own deaths.

MC/ZG/BWL, faction crap and general fucking around make you cash. Learning new content costs but frankly it has been a while since a week gave me less cash than I started with. For big pushes on new content we fund repairs anyhow.

Gold limit is probably to avoid farmers moving large chunks of cash around between servers.

Demon Soul is brand new, too.

This makes no sense. It's not like AoS has a queue anymore and it's not lagging. Hopefully, it's just because it's on new hardware and maybe it's setup easier, but..

Odd choice.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense. They probalby don't want some people to transfer, but not a lot. It is unlikely a large amount of people will move off a new server, this allows them to ease the system into place and discover any hiccups.

nobody will move a fresh, green/blue level 60 from a new server to an old when, where he's suddenly nobody.
