I used to just hang out in orgrimmar chat from whatever zone I was in before they took away that bug/feature. Channels are fine by me as long as they have another channel to soak up ooc spam. And where the hell are my /serverwide channels Blizz?

| Is it really so hard to either leave the channel or put it in another tab that's out of the way until you need it? I very rarely PUG, but this seems like a great improvement for those who do. Now all the people whining that they can't finish an UBRS run with less than 75 people can get replacements without even leaving the zone. |

The problem is that due to the incredible spam in this channel most mature people left it now. If you want to use it now, tough luck because only retards will hear you. It's not just that it's annoying to be in now, it is also completly useless. I just joined for shits... there is actually a random group looking for people to farm MC trash

| What's totally mind boggling is that the board moderators say this is what the customer base asked for. Completely forgetting the fact that what people really asked for was the ability to join the city lfg channels again after the devs broke it in a patch. Not this global abortion they added, while again deleting the semi-useful zone specific lfg channels. It's almost a replay of the whole meeting stones travesty all over again. I think I'm gonna organize a private global lfg system on our server with the other raiding guilds. I'd encourage everyone else to too. Too bad blizzard's chat server doesn't support keeping passworded channels open like EQ's did. Last edited by Phred : 06-24-2006 at 08:24 PM. |

| The global chat channel is the greatest thing to happen to WoW in a long time. You guys are just too stuck up and snobby to enjoy the fun of the channel. If you want groups, do what normal people have always done and just /who and whisper people or ask your friends/guild. |

| Heard you can crash the whole server by constantly spamming tons of lines of chat to the global channel or something since it reaches so many people it causes huge lag then crash? At least thats what happened constantly on Maelstrom tonight. btw, only saying this cause im tired of maelstrom being down. all threads about it on official boards get deleted. Know i'm not suppose to post exploits or whatever here but this is just dumb. |

| The few times I've been on these past days, the global LFG channel has been reasonably coherent, given that it's fucking global and thus the playground of potentially every server retard in existence. But then again, my server doesn't take a queue to get in every night and is RP PVP. What astounds me about this design choice is not that Blizzard has eased out of having to implement a UI-based LFG system, but that they haven't considered how easily a few bad apples could spam the crap out of this shit and make it essentially useless (ignore doesn't quite cut it if people are using throw-away alts). Are they that optimistic towards their player base? Do they really think that people are going to play nice and use the channel as a LFG tool as opposed to, say, a global chat channel, auction house, or vehicle for some drama queen's quest for the center of attention? Grinding, farming, etc. are boring enough that a global chat channel can be relatively entertaining, but for LFG? Ugh. |
