+1 Internets | Implement three global LFG channels; 55 and below(BRD and below), level 60 dungeons, and raid content(UBRS/AQ20/ZG), as well as one for battlegrounds and one for world questing. Done. Last edited by Kasonic; 06-21-2006 at 03:42 PM.. |

| I liked EQ1 and EQ2s LFG system. Make it an ACTUAL CHARACTER FLAG that I can search for with specific delimiters. Make a channel for each age range that is global and used for LFG. I recall very little spam in the global EQ2 channels for LFG stuff. |

| I guess it's a sign of how far the b.net mentality has pervaded everywhere, including these boards, that people are actually defending this implementation and spouting "it's fine lrn2play lolz!" News flash for you e-toughguys: everybody understands that leaving any sort of general chat channel, especially in WoW, is for the most part a good idea. But that doesn't mean that a) implementing the laziest possible LFG solution is a good idea on Blizzard's part or that b) it's acceptable that the intended use of the channel is almost entirely lost in the deluge of people taking Barrens chat to a whole new level. We get it; you're h4rdc0r3 (or however you do that properly) and people making Chuck Norris jokes drowning out legitimate use of a LFG channel doesn't bother you. And, in the main, you're right; this is a fairly small thing in the overall scheme of the game, especially considering that the readership of this board will usually not need to make use of such a channel. It doesn't mean that this was in any way, shape, or form a good design decision. |

If I'm 60 and actually looking for a group, I don't want to get spam about level 20 instances.

Its getting kinda lame that people have so little decent MMO choices that they're willing to settle for subpar shit from a company that is making billions.

+1 Internets | I bet they're talking in circles and trying to come up with a 'better' or perhaps more WoW-ish method to handle lfg that would be 'better' than the time tested eq /lfg tag and /who all function. Nothing beats just being able to go /who all lfg cleric 60. No amount of menues or shinanigans has worked better for me when I just want to get a group started. They need to stop dicking around and stop trying to re-invent the wheel and just do what eq has done years ago. |

+3 Internets | http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/a...s-lfg-mod.html CallToArms (CTA) has three main features: 1. Find players and groups This feature shows the user a list of all players who are looking to join a group and groups who are currently looking for more players. This is a global list that shows players and groups from all over Azeroth. 2. Flag yourself as LFG Using this feature, the player enters a short description of the desired quest/instance etc. that s/he would like to do. This information is placed on the same list that is viewable by all other users globally. 3. Find more players for your group CTA lets group leaders create a profile of their group. This profile includes a short description, the maximum size of the group and the level range of the group members. Group leaders can even set the class distribution of the group members. This finformation is posted on the global list so that other users can view it. CTA also has a blacklist feature which is a list of players that are not allowed to join your group. The blacklist also acts as an extended ignore list. For more information consult the README file in the CallToArms folder after installation or see an online version of it at http://hub1.netfirms.com/wowui/cta/cta_readme.html ![]() |

Pre-world LFG, CTA users woudl forward LFG/LFM messages to the CTA channel so if you used it you could see a lot of the channels from anywhere, but now with the world LFG you dont need it. (You will still get LFGs from zone specific channels if they are forwarded, however, so you may get more than just in the LFG channel.) It's nice even w/o peopel using it. It's awesome with them using it.
