| People always say that classic shards won't work, but I am not convinced they can't. I played on a classic UO shard that had over 1.2k people on at peak times and rarely feell below 700 on offpeak. The shard was around for 2+ years and the only reason it died was because people kept Ddosing the server and causing it to crash/lag. The only issues that the server had were a direct result of it being run by one person instead of a company. There was a LOT of interest and most of us were far from being bored when the shard ended. I think something like this could work, but it is defintely a risk without a guarenteed reward. |
