If it is a high population server there are several key bottlenecks that are going to cause a lot of anguish. I wonder how quickly the nostalgia will evaporate when people are reminded how fucking annoying those bottlenecks were the first time around. Points of contention before the first expansion is even unlocked: LGuk/SolB, Fear/Hate, Nag/Vox -- all will be nasty content bottlenecks Have fun stomping on each other like ants, getting on lists for camps, being trained by vindictive asses and the like. Yeah, those were the good times... ![]() edit: the point being, if you plan on playing on the progression server you will need to: 1) play constantly and be at the very front of the content progression or 2) not care about the bullshit and bottlenecks that come with not being on top Last edited by Esmo : 05-23-2006 at 09:24 AM. | |

| Even with all the negative aspects, I'm still pretty pumped for this. I didn't play at release but I did play from Kunark 'till the end of PoP where I quit to focus on real life shit. My question is how long it would take someone to hit 50 if they work fulltime but still focus 40+ hours on the game. I ask because until mid-august, I work until 10pm PST 4 nights a week which would obviously cut into raiding time. So I'm basically just banking that people are capping out by the time the september semester starts...

+19 Internets | I remember getting all mine in about a week, then spending a week in Fungus Grove for that last one. I see it being popular at first, but long term not so much. Of course there's going to be lines for FBSS and crap at first regardless... but I don't think enough people will level super quickly that will be a major problem. Hopefuly Kunark gets unlocked fairly soon because that continent gives you so much more to do and basically changes rogues all together.

| ! I just wish they'd put in the first version of EQ, no patch. I'd just sit in Qeynos Hills turning in rat ears to Hayden??, then buy full plate at level 1 like I did on the release of Vallon/Tallon, then quit by level 10 and give my thousands upon thousands of plat to Bone Dancer !!!!!!! |

| I never got into EQ cause by the time I started(2002) all the starter areas were empty of anyone but people power leveling alts. I thought this server would a great way to learn what all the hype was about but now I'm not so sure. If there are only a few good spots in every area and everyone knows about them its just gonna be one big camping mess. Has anyone found out if you can apply if you don't have an active account? |
