Future EQ servers

So im downloading EQ trilogy off their escape to norrath page and reading the soe boards(lol) about the server.

Pretty much everywhere I see people hyped up about it or completely devoid of any interest, it seems the people who are hyped up are playing this server for the "old school" feel youll be getting til after velious, which in my mind means, people will play til PoP is released then itll go in the shitter.

Anyone can see that this server is certainly doomed, so the question is, will we get a "classic" server before it goes in the shitter? That's all everyone really wants...

There's certainly enough demand for one and if I was Smed I would certainly be leaning towards it after seeing how well this server does. I'm just worried about us never getting another chance at a real classic server.

People point me to Dalaya for a "classic" server, but the truth is that isnt EQ, it never will be and it is a disgrace to even be considered EQ.

this server would be great if they just picked a side. classic or progressive/competitive

what they need is a classic, and a pvp like this one

What do you mean before it goes in the shitter?

I don't think SOE would ever scrap/dicontinue EQ1. There is so much content at this point... I think if they got to that point ever they would probably do a complete revamp to make levels 1-60/70 more of like a WoW progression and then re-release.

While that would be nice and should be what Smed's thinking about since the game is seven years old, I doubt that'll happen, if it ever does, before 2008 to 2010.

We really need a WoW nostalgia server. Before Dire Maul and Maraudon, before all the Battlegrounds. The only raids being Molten Core and Onyxia, with Onyxia chain-gunning conflag fireballs. Back when you could 40 man shadowfang keep if you really wanted.

Yes. I want ambush back on lethality, remorseless attacks giving a 100% damage bonus, cloth sets having pretty much no stamina and barman shanker being a secret between dagger rogues who knew what was up.

why? would people in kelethin not buy my dervish cutthroat rings from NRo??? God, I used to sell those for a plat a piece back in April/May 1999. Instead of farming them, I'd just go buy them from groups camped at the derv camps for a gold a piece, then sell them for 10x as much! Port to Gfay with my druid, and profit!

God I miss those good, newbie days.
