Pretty interesting quote here. What you describe as 'fun' sounds mindnumblingy boring, and what you describe as 'boring' sounds like fun.

I think I agree with Makata in principle - the PvP grind is stupid, the system of CP and ranking and decay is stupid, and PvP'ers do put in every bit as much time and skill (on the whole) as your average raider. A different kind of skill, to be sure, but skill nonetheless.

I really really hope Blizzard fixes (somehow) the system in 1.12. The only thing that would REALLY fix it would be a linear pvp grind, need 1 million CP to hit rank 11, 5 million to hit rank 14. There is no decay.

On the one hand, thats a fucking lot of CP to get - I've been casually PvP'ing all week and I think I've got about 140k. That'd be like 7 weeks to hit rank 11, and .. 28 weeks to hit rank 14? But I can just log in and casually pvp and I'll hit it eventually. Thats not true today.

That isn't the right solution either. Joe Casual SHOULDN'T be able to hit 14. You should have to be in either a pvp guild or very solid pvp group to hit 14. Currently, there's a third way: massive play time. I completely disagree that it should be possible to lose every bg you're ever in and get 0 HK but make HWL. By your version, that's possible like 2 years down the road or w/e.

Decay is good, it keeps you on your toes. It forces you to stay active. What's bad is when you lose progress. A good idea would be to keep decay as it is, possibly even increase it a bit in the r6-11 range, just make it so you can't ever lose ranking points. They also need to grossly increase the RP allotments .. again. #1 gets 13k and #3 generally gets somethign like 12.2k. It should be closer to #10 gets 12k. #50 gets 11k. #150 gets 10k.

Proposed it before. Just have 2 ranking system. One linear with normal rewards such as mounts, armor, tabards, trinkets, etc..etc...and as mudflation kicks in you just add more and more ranks and better items and armor.

Then you have one weekly competative rank. Person with standing #1 is rank 1, standing 2~4 is rank 2, standing 5~10 is rank 3, etc...on down to rank 20 or something.

The better your rank, the more nifty things you get access to for the next week. Things as special "high ranking officer" only grenades, 'goblin claymore' mines, the ability to call in airstrikes during BG's or something, anybody rank 3 or better gets an Aura of Battle similar to the lieutenants in AV (only works when in BG's of course), people rank 8 and better get bonus faction in BG's, etc...etc...

The abilities/items all decay during tuesday maintenance.

the pvp system needs to reward skill more than time.. it needs to somehow reward beating that one badass team that is really hard... atm its like the main pvp teams are cthun, the pugs you roll are strath, and t he rewards for each of them are equal. wtf is that

Rewarding skill is really hard ya but theres better ways than this, and it sure as hell shouldnt just be a linear grind of skill-less slaughter to super uber epix.

One thing that does piss me off is how retardedly good the blue pvp sets are now.. blizz just went through the process of reitemizing the old pve zones with new shit for better armor.. and it all fucking sucked.. now we see rank 10 ez mode getting shit that is MC+ quality even if its only blue. Fucking retarded... i think theres an arguement for the rank 12-13 grind being so retarded that it deserves some decent armor, but there sure as hell isnt any reason why joe the dumbfuck or some chinese farmer who loses every game of wsg can get R10 for way way better shit than someone who is spending alot of money and doing some pretty hard fights in the 5 man pve shit.

So basically you enjoy easy gaming? Why don't you just go play a single player game on God mode. You can say the exact same things then too.

I can't believe you sat here and said "ezmode" referring to PVE, yet you don't want any kind of challenge in PVP. Funny.

The fact that it's easy is not what makes it fun. It's the victory, the teamwork, the huge omgwtf crits. Even pugs can kill you from time to time and it's up to your healers to be spot on. Virtually every paladin on my server guns for me and as little as their dps is, 3 minutes later after I've sniped 2 mages and a rogue they almost kill me and I need that shaman to keep me up.

I'm all for challenging matches. However, when I say "challenging" I don't mean "takes an hour and a fucking half." I don't mean "who can turtle on a druid the best." I mean "Wow, I had that guy down to like 3% and that healer popped out of no where man!" What aggrivates me about good group vs good group is it isn't about skill past a point. Each team runs their druid past enemy lines and then what, you spend 20 minutes trying to kill them. No, you can't always kill the druid as he passes by. When there's 2 priests, a paladin, and a mage sitting right next to him, I'd really like to see your team do it.

It's why I love AB. 2 great teams can really have a good pvp match, and I love it. Unless I'm in a rush to get my honor, I'd much rather win 2000-1900 against great opponents due to our great combination of teamwork and focus, but that simply doesn't happen in warsong which has unfortunately become the bread and butter of honor farming.

Ah .. so you're one of the people who thinks the rogue set has gotten "nerfed"?

Old set: 937ac 12str 65agi 179sta 3% crit 92ap 1% dodge 2% hit (including bonus)
New set: 1319ac 143agi 184sta 4% crit 40ap 4% hit (including bonus)

+382ac +78agi +5sta +1% crit +2% hit
-64ap (counting str directly as AP) -1% dodge

Now considering that that 78agi will among other things give you 78ap, that to me looks like A COMPLETE BUFF. In other words, you are trading a whooping ONE PERCENT DODGE for 382ac, 14ap, 5sta, 3.79% crit, 2% hit. Yea .. real big fucking nerf. GJ

Vitality in 1.11 will be removed. The devs want to use this talent, but don't like its placement in the tree. Again, they want to use this talent, but it is not fitting right for them now.

This change went in on Friday, so it was not reflected in the PTR build.

I agree with the thinking. Maybe replace Improved Bloodrage with it and make that the lead in to Last Stand. It would make more sense if you ask me.

My sincerest hope is this means a real warrior review in 1.12. A complete rehaul of the protection tree as a starter. I have so many hopes yet I feel a monumental letdown.

Gee, I can get spirit and do more damage on Rag and Nef (I don't give a shit about AQ, I havn't done it, and I'm whining about pre-BWL gear) or I can get more dmg/stamina and do more damage to EVERYTHING else I attack and gain signifficant more survivability.

On nef our primary jobs are to AoE and cure to begin with. Stamina and to a lesser extent int helps us AoE. Rogues and Hunters are the sustained DPS classes. Mages are the burst DPS class. How many times have you been insta-killed from shadowflame by a few hundred hitpoints?

The tier .5 set is supposed to be grouped + upper spire content. Content where mages NEVER run out of mana, yet the set wastes points on spirit. Same goes for ZG.

I know you never PvP, but A LOT of people do. Most people in fact, do both PvP AND PvE. Spirit is 100% useless in PvP.

I think you should reroll as a rogue Sancus. You seem to think all mages do is single target DPS.
