Splash resists on entire set isn't efficient stat allocation, because

1) In the majority of the fights you are not utilizing it, thus "paying" for something that is not used.

2) If you need resists, you gonna wear specialized resist gear anyway.

Ya-hoo?
Same fucking shit. Not a true tier upgrade by any stretch.. a little more than a sidegrade. Veer-grade!
Excuse me? Going from Tier 1 you gain -3sta, +1int, -2spi, +10NR, +1%crit, +9dmg.

Please explain to me how the Frostfire upgrade is worse than the Arcanist->Netherwind upgrade? Seems to me that it's much better. You get more damage, +1% hit, and only lose worthless resists as opposed to stamina.

No, those resists are very helpful. At least in the case of a paladin. The 40 Fr alone I get from Tier 2 might not be very helpful but stacked with Fr Aura that puts me at 100 Fr. For pvp that is a very noticeable difference.

I never said the upgrade from T1 to T2 was worth a shit.
That was a pure sidegrade.
T2 to T3 isnt that much better.

wrath shoulders with the AD enchant are my FR shoulders. Wrath chest is also my FR chest. Having the resists on items with assloads of stats is very helpful.

Priest upgrade is remarkable.

Notice the accel row, which shows how much more of an improvement T3 is than T1.

Also, overall I'm kind of dissapointed in the Naxx set looks. The only one that looks like 'death' is the warrior one, I was expecting more deathly sets, but I suppose if they all looked ghoulish they'd look too similar. Besides the desire to see bones and skulls on the raidforce entering TBC, the sets look pretty sweet.

Priests getting a halo and wings is... cute...

I'd wager a small amount that the reason why there is less of a vast difference between upgrading Tier-based epic equipment, than the upgrades you see upon hitting 60 initially, is simply due to the constraints given the itemization team for players with character levels of lvl 60.

Simply put, they can only diversify so much with a limited number of points and still make it appealing to the target raiding objective of each class. More to the point, with character levels expanding to 70 here in the next several months, and Naxx being a lvl 60 (probably to 65) Raiding Zone, they'll have their ilvl caps that they can't work around.

However, I'd like to say that I think the set for the warriors is -awesome-. I read the other thread where someone explains the minimal difference between AQ tank armor, and Naxx tank armor, and simply put, I don't agree with him. I think the upgrade is amazing. I am pleased.

One of the things I think EQ2 did right was their ten-level Tier system. Despite the 'Cobalt fuckup' of DoF and initial itemization problems with that expansion, since then there is a clear upgrade path when you move from Tier 5 into Tier 6 and on into Tier 7. The upgrades make sense because you are, in fact moving into a whole new level range.

WoW Itemization at 60 is like a whole new leveling curve, only this is one not available to just anyone who picks up the box at Fry's. The curve starts when you hit 60 when you have a few blues + greens, moves to full Blues, Dungeon 1+ 2 set pieces, then graduates into Epics sets, T1, T2, AQ 5-piece and now T3. The fact that you're level 60 the entire time is basically where they've hung themselves. There wouldn't be half the 'side grade' comments if after getting T1 you leveled to 70, were able to get T2, then leveled to 80 and get T3. The upgrades could be more defined instead of single digit changes and new golly-gee-wow set bonuses.

You should post a picture of your balls in Screenshots. Because you have to have some big brass ones claiming that an 8DPS upgrade on one piece of armor(4 from the hit, 4 from the +dmg) is "mildly better."

Bleh, I hope my ramblings about rogue dodge isn't the cause of thier set having zero +dodge.

When it's coupled with a net loss of stats and a loss of resists when compared to an already lacking robe, it definitely comes up a bit short.

I think most of the gear looks good, although not really to the point of what Blizzard is touting it as. I just wish they would get rid of the terrible item level system and just say, "Hey, this is currently the best robe in the game. Since the robe we are making needs to be significantly better, let's use this as a template and add on some stuff."

Blizzard seems to be scared to death of mudflation, but I really don't see it as a terrible thing. When the only way to improve your character for a year and a half is to get better gear, it damn well better be a tasty, juicy carrot at the end of the stick. Think back on upgrading from level 60 blues to Molten Core gear and how excited you were for each upgrade. Certainly going from MC to Naxxramas is a bigger jump in difficulty than from UBRS to MC.

Uh, you mean when I was downgrading from Devilsaur to Nightslayer because Nightslayer was significantly worse? Nightslayer Legs used to have 12 spirit and 1 dodge and were lousy as hell. Other pieces were similarly horrible when they were first introduced.
