How anticipated is Vanguard NOW?

I voted yes, but on a condition. I will play it if its part of the all access pass. Then its just a one time purchase and I dont have to pay any more montly for it. And for a one time purchase, it cant be a bigger let down then Oblivion. I knew from day one it wasnt going to be the MMO to end all MMO's, but it still looks cool to me.

Wish there was a "I'm going to try the free month" option.

At this point I'm not really sure what to think about it, but I still plan on picking it up and at least playing for the free month...how it goes will determine if I keep playing.

If they have a trial available - sure. But from what I've seen and heard now, I won't buy it without having had a chance to play it for a few days first.

No, I would not. It simply does not appear to be entertaining or exciting.

And I have my hands full with WoW... and WoW has a plethora of very exciting stuff coming out and it appears to have a very bright future ahead of it.

Ask me again when Vanguard is more near completition maybe. It's really too soon to tell.

This is kind of where I stand. What I have seen and played of Vanguard currently does not interest me. I don't think Brad is deceiving me. I don't think the game is beyond all hope. I just don't see it being something I want to play in the near future(and like Sean, I have obligations elsewhere - in EQ with my guild on Prexus).

I voted "Maybe later", but this poll needs more choices. What is the max choices you can set up?

I could have put up alot more choices, I was actually just curious how much, if at all, opinions had changed since the last poll. I just used the original threads exact poll options to get a direct comparison.

I'm aware that this poll is far from being scientific, but there's a 11% drop in those that said they're gonna play the game for sure.

Regardless of this poll, I think the hype about VG is dying down in already-established MMORPG communities long before release (which of course, might again pick up later on, who knows?). So as Brad said, their best option might be reaching out to those who haven't heard about the game at all.

Just because some of us are bored to death and/or nauseated at the thought of playing yet another high fantasy game doesn't mean we want to play a shitty game just because it's in a different genre either.

There's two requirements -- new genre and quality game. The problem is that as more and more shitty games are released in alternative genres, the less likely it is for the bean counters to allow a company that's actually competent to try making such a thing. The same thing happens in Hollywood with certain types of movies too.

I have been really enjoying myself in EQii lately and not sure if I would leave for another mmorpg atm. However, I have heard reports that the combat is somewhat similar to EQii and that excites me because I really like EQii combat over any other mmorpg I have played. I felt WoW was too arcade-ish(which fits with the game great and makes the pvp quite fun), but have been impressed with EQii so far.

I guess it will all depend on where I am with my current mmorpg. It would be nice to start Vanguard when it is released because it is always fun to play a game at release. That is the only thing I missed out on with EQii(although I heard the game as terrible for the first year!).

So I guess it depend. The ability to play a game at release is always exciting, but I don't really have 15hrs/day to race to the top...

I dont think the high fantasy genre is depleted by a long shot. The problem is, the producers are making piss poor choices when it comes to settings. Dark Sun / Athas would be a kick ass setting for an MMORPG if done right, ditto for Dragonlance or even Riftwars/Midkemia.

Anyway, my screaming vault forum fan base knows where I stand. Another game which will be finished on subscription revenue for a year. Have fun shoving your visa up your own ass and twisting it sideways.
