It's already been said, and I'll say it again. You can pass judgement on a game 4 years into development. If this is all they have come up with after this amount of time, where beta testers do not even want to log in to tedious and idiotic game design, terrible quest plots, borish combat, retarded crafting designs; while at the same time hiding all that behind an NDA because the people in charge know full well their design isn't popular but it is too late to do anything about it now so they need to make sure box sales stay high by spinning everything under the sun -- then let people say whatever they would like to to make sure history doesn't keep repeating itself.

What I want to know is why you give a shit? How does Vanguard being shitty affect you? Just don't buy it when it comes out, problem solved. If it's fixed/great/whatever when it comes out, buy it, life is good! Why all the whining and complaining while they're still working on it? When the shit is on the shelves is when it affects you.

Love it or hate it WoW cartoon gfx have some unique looks. Both EQ2 and VG has same ultra-realisitc quality "style".

IE: I want a video showing an entire standard/general encounter.

Hype is completely different. Hype goes on and on, unabated, while judgement about the current state of the game gets locked behind an NDA.

haha. sorry but UO and meridian59 might have something to say about that. EQ had an influence but with the greater influx of people stealing games, subscription/online based services were a clear way the industry was heading. it wasnt practical to download 600mb with dialup but now everyone has cable/dsl drastically influencing who might actually play games such as this.

eq was the first online game you probably heard anyone commit suicide over. sure im just as nostalgic about eq as anyone else but a lot of the punishment i put myself through was because there was nothing else. 5hrs of pain for 5mins of fun? sure, i didnt know any better. there was nothing else to compare EQ to, so they could feed us dogshit and tell us it was steak, and we didnt know any better.

if classic eq is such a quality game, why arent there subscription numbers to back it up? hell, excusing subscription numbers, why isnt this forum talking so much about eq anymore?(hint: latest EQ thread was about a server that people want to play so they can experiance only 2 of 11 expansions) the time for eq passed, we now have much better options and by that standard appreciate that eq wasnt one of the best mmo's, but rather one that got lucky at the right time.

Utanyan, do you have a job? If so, at that job, have you ever made any kind of mistake? Large or small?

Would you like for that mistake to be thrown in your face by the mail boy at every meeting you say anything which sounds like "I can do this." ?

If not, cut them some slack, see what their game looks like, and speak with your $$. If you were a subscriber and they weren't giving you what you wanted, that'd be one thing - you're at least paying for the right to complain. You are not tied to Vanguard in ANY WAY.

The bottom line is, if Vanguard sucks, we'll hear ALL ABOUT IT when open beta hits, and when it's released. You're not saving us any $$ because there is nothing to buy. All you're doing is obsessing over a man who made a game you played 6 years ago, and hounding his ass on a message board. I know you've got this "Anti-fanboy" thing going, but christ, give it a rest.
