The good news is that you're still alive. The bad news is that that's the good news. Also, you have no legs.

I don't mind the combination of animal and humanoid as playable race, but for my taste that's already covered by the creature walking on two legs, talking in common language and holding weapons with "hands". Giving them a completely human appearance with just an animal head screwed on is a bit too...searching for another word for "cheap"...much of an attempt to save ressources.

I can understand that there are reasons for it, but I don't like decisions that reflect the technical limitations in such an obvious way. Whenever I look at a Raki, I get reminded of technical problems and suboptimal solutions and that's simply depressing. It's like "Sorry, we would have loved to give you a unique design, but the system memory ressource management priorities didn't allow it".

The competition does not have these problems. Conan looks kickass right off the bat. How come people aren't picking on their graphics?

Anyways, "agree to disagree" might become the phrase of the year

Because no one expects Conan to do anything but suck.

The word is contrived which what Vanguard feels like at this point in development.

From Time magazine from last week, talking about the Nintendo Wii:

Cutting-edge design has become more important than cutting-edge technology. There is a persistent belief among engineers that consumers want more power and more features. That is incorrect. Look at Apple's iPod, a device that didn't and doesn't do much more than the competition. It won because it's easier, and sexier, to use.

Game designers could learn from that.

In my opinion Conans graphics is terrible. I have not seen such ugly texturing on human models in a long time. I don't constantly bash it though because they still have time to fix it. I also don't feel a need be a fool by bashing a game so early in development.

Conan's features are more then enough to make me forgive any graphical blemishes it might hold.

Mounted beheadings, bar room brawls, insanity meter for magic users...they have alot of cool ideas that hopefully will translate well to the gameplay.

That is too bad then that the char models for VG will be more or less different sized/colored humans... some with different heads.

But I guess if the gameplay rocks it will make up for it... IF...

I wish I could come down to the Sigil Studios for like a month, and just work on their female models. There are ways in which the models could be greatly improved, and I have a feeling something like that is low-priority at this time.

It's a shame as well, as I have always love Keith's artwork and his human designs and I can't find that same visuall attention being paid to the models (even the males) as it looks now. I'm not sure where the art direction lapsed somewhere within Sigil, but I don't see the follow-through of the art in the current models.

The Qalia female Keith designed was great.. I can't remember her name or find the painting now, but it would be great to see that in 3D, hi or low poly, it doesn't really matter.

This would be why my backbone sticks out of my cloak as an undead... so umm yeah. Hope you aren't trying to suggest wow's clothing and armor textures are better because they have soo many flaws it is not funny. Shoulders don't sit properly, the above mentioned backbone for undead sticks out of every article of clothing. Have you seen prophecy shoulders? The lapels that hang down ALWAYS face the camera, if you look at your character from the top the lapels look like they are sticking straight out.
