+5 Internets | The Legendary Caster item is a wooden dowel with a parakeet on the end? I know that the existing reference imagery for Medivh's staff makes it a very pedestrian looking object, but the leaked pics of the WoW realization of it makes it look even more boring than when seen in War3. Given the way Ashbringer looks and the already distinctive appearance of Thunderfury I am just....well.... underwhelmed by the way the Staff of the Guardian looks. Well that and the reported stats are just kinda boring. Base stats and + damage... The aura is similarly boring. Useful? Yeah....but there's a reason no one gives a rats ass about having a Moonkin in the group and thats because increasing crit percentage is DULL. It might have statistical relevance when you parse out damage, but compared to the Thunderfury effect (something original and wholly different) its not all that. Oh right the portal. Yeah. Port a group to Kharzan. Convenient if you happen to plan on spending lots of time there I guess, but that won't even be a destination until Thanksgiving at best and requires telling your group "hey guys don't go to the dungeon...lets everyone gather in IF instead so I can port us there!" It might sound like sour grapes and I'm sure more than one person will just say "Well you dont HAVE to get a legendary item!" But to me it just looks like more indication that WoW is a melee-centric game that only regards casters and caster classes as a necessary evil at best and not worth putting more than an afternoon's effort into content creation for. | Come on guys, the other legendaries either pulse lightning even while just carrying it and have a raid-critical debuff that affects the guild as a whole - or looks exactly like the weapon one of the most famous raid bosses use. The caster one is a wooden stick with a bird on it that gives a party-only aura that few would even notice much less clamor to be in the group with. Sure it's orange, but does it live up to legendary hype? |

+6 Internets | Actually, if you look at TF in particular, probably the most desired legendary item, the stats are shit. The proc makes that weapon. I doubt you could come up with a caster version of that weapon which functioned in a similar support+proc damage manner and was still desirable. Maybe they could, it would just take some real effort in item development. I think the look of the staff is kind of cool, super powerful staff just looks like a stick. Plus the actual lore behind the staff makes it awesome. We all know who Medihv is, but who the fuck is Thunderaan? |

+1 Internets | It looks identical to the reference art. They did a good job. I'll take my stick that doubles my weapon slot damage and buffs the rest of my group, thanks. Sulfuras isn't fucking special either; if it was a rare epic drop from Rag instead of Spinal no one would bat an eye. If the graphic matters so much, fuck with your data files; I'm sure there'll be a staff in Naxx that gives you a boner. |

+14 Internets | You all bitch about the staff, and I'll be happy to take the thing that will offer me close to 250 spell damage and gives me a free port to Eastern Kingdoms.

| Easy caster legendary proc. Make the stats similar to the Staff of Ruins from AQ20 - not overpowered, just decent. Like Thunderfury. Chance on Hit: Causes the target to be vulnerable to magic, increasing magic damage and effects against this target by up to 25. Lasts 20 seconds. Stacks 5 times. Make it a 30-40% proc, and bam - caster legendary that does something no other weapon can - ends up being a shitload of damage and benefits the whole raid, just like thunderfury. Tweak the numbers as desired. |

| Cad, no... just, no. I dont want anything that requires me to melee my target... just no. Edit: people saying you dont have to have a legendary item are just retarded. Let's give all the melee a legendary spoon and see how they complain. It is possible that the bird may speak, so maybe it will talk smack for you during PvP! Yeehaa!
