Vanguard won't make close to as much money as WoW will, is anyone seriously debating this?

^ is irrelevant however when you are talking about WoW being a stable product.

Nah he said 100k. And btw you have too much time on your hands ;p

And as for Vaclav, only he can find a negative in constant increasing monthly sales and subs heheh.

And actually, if there is monthly subscription "churning", which I have no access to records to know (nor do I have a friend like Vaclav who lives a few blocks away from Blizzard's HQs), Blizzard benefits double in box sales and increased overall monthly subscription rates. What this might even indicate is a tremendous increase in subscriptions once the expansion comes out since all those churned subscriptions might seek reinstatement for the expansion.

And what the hell is joystiq.com again? Perhaps this is the darling blog of industry big wigs and insiders or something but it would seem to me that if anything you are giving them publicity. (Maybe you are affiliated.)

Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I would be interested to know if that is some famously respected blog site making sidelong quips about this forum, or just another ad heavy gaming site.

Well, I'd never heard of the site but, due to the free publicity given to them above, heh, I checked out their list. Man, there are a buttload of MMOs coming that all want a slice of the pie. How on Earth most of them expect to do much is beyond me! Even the somewhat anticipated ones like VG will be lucky to take much away from WoW. I guess a lot are concentrating on the Eastern market but that list just makes my eyes glaze over ;(

Heh, I wonder if Smed sent Sigil any congratulatory special recipe doughnuts.

So what ever happened to Microsoft accepting that Vanguard will be a nitche game with small population?

Looks like it was Brads wet dream.

Never fear though, Sony is in the business of taking other peoples shit and making it their own. Like MXO!

I don't have the exact quote but from what I read, it sounded like they would get a pro-rated portion of the all-access sub based on the percent of total play time the person spent playing VG minus some sort of surcharge that goes to SOE for their services. I'm also guessing the amount is capped at the normal VG sub rate.

I'm assuming it works like this:

$24.99/month All Access
$15.99/month for Regular VG sub

Person spends 50% of total play time playing VG.

Sigil gets $12.98 minus whatever Sigil pays per sub to SOE for their support/network, etc services.

If someone played VG 100% of the time on an All Access pass, I'm assuming Sigil only gets $15.99 minus the surcharge to SOE.

If I can find the quote I read, I'll post it.

The real benefit here is that it will be basically impossible for anyone to get hard figures on VG's subscriber base after release because so many of them will be commingled with other Station games. I foresee many neverending, no-facts-allowed threads about this subject before I die.

Well, every race has the same body anyways so that was too be expected. It would be nice though if you actually read up on what the system brings to the table before bashing it. http://www.mysticgamedevelopment.com..._features.html
