They were playing WoW and CoV so they wouldn't burn out on either game, but their patience was waning.
Not sure if it's a matter of support being cut (although, considering how many projects NCSoft has in works, it wouldn't surprise me) or if it's just because this Issue is of fairly significant size. Regardless, it's taking a helluva long time. Previous Issues only took between 3-4 months. It's going on six months since CoV's release (which was Issue 6) and Issue 7 isn't even on test yet. Considering it'll likely be on Test for about a month once it gets there, we're looking at 7-8 months between 6 and 7.

Statesman had indicated prior to CoV's release that they wanted to space out the Issues a little bit more to beef them up, but I really hope they're not going to continue the trend to this extreme for Issue 8. Of course, my main gripe in all of this is the fact that CoH is getting little to no content in this Issue release, while we were told CoV's release would have little impact on CoH's production schedual. (After EQ, I'm not sure why I bought into that.)

Can't remember, since they were lower level, but it was about the same time Recluse left also. Me, I think its a shake up, and Statesman perhaps got some of it.

Hey, I hear Furor is actually Gary Gygax. Care to speculate on that as well?

It was fun for awhile, but the higher levels just became a boring grind.

The nazi missions never got old, though. Killing nazis 4tw!

...Then they removed the nazis ;( Fuck you, European Union and your ghey laws!!! ;(

Fuck them for removing the 5th Column.

Weren't the 5th Column returning, though? There was a slot for 5th Column salvage if I remember right...?

....any good drama regarding Recluse leaving?

Yes, we've been told they'll be back "soon."

There have been patches, but think of them as more akin to what EQ's patches were like: bug fixes, power changes, etc. We did get a couple holiday events, a new zone (Pocket D), and a couple contacts too though.

It's the only game I felt that being unbalanced was appropriate, for PvE and PvP for that matter. Enforce PvP to be team based only (basically, it is already) and balance it that way if you have to.

Superhero games should not be as balanced as other genre's....some, sure, but not to the extent that others attempt.

So like, do they not do anything for City of Heroes now? Sounds like it would kill PvP possibilities to me.

COH already had has had 40-50 content and epic power pools for a long time. This gets the villains up to speed.

I don't think the 5th Column was ever going to make a comeback. It might've been part of the original guy's story bible (Rick Dackarn i think was the name of the guy who wrote all the original background history) to have an invasion from the Nazi dimension supported by the 5th Column in paragon, but I think they abandoned that original notebook of ideas.

They curiously "abandoned" them right as the game was released in Europe. All references to WW2 were virtually scrubbed and they removed the 5th. Gee, what a coincidence.

They censored the game to avoid potential issues with Germany, etc. I think what made me the most pissed about it was the fact they tried to explain it away as a "storyline change" instead of what it really was.

that annoyed the hell of me, i was mostly okay with the story they split or whatever, but then they went in and changed all the backstory/plaques
then said, "We really didn't mean to do that"
