/agree

The EQ2 I am currently playing is pretty good, and this coming from one of SOE's harshest critics ever. The game right now is much better than it was at launch, but like AO, the bad launch thing can kill ya.

You'd probably love the thunderstorms that sometimes rage across Antonica and the Thundering Steppes (Qeynos Hills and Plains of Karana). I know I was floored the first time I saw the Northern Lights in Everfrost (it's fairly uncommon).

I haven't gotten a chance to view the Northern Lights yet...but just seeing the erupting volcanos in Lavastorm was enough to put me in awe. And you're right, the storms in Antonica are so neat!

This was my biggest problem with PoP now I think of it. They destroyed the image of their own deities(sp) by letting us harvest them. How can you fear/respect something you kick the shit out of once a week? They try too be all dramatic with armageddon talk but who is scared of Rallos Zek? Who hasnt whooped his ass at least a hundred times? I hope they think of something more interesting then "The return of the gods!" because the "gods" wernt that god-like and not all that impressive too begin with.

oh... and the four horsemen? You know your have reached rock bottom on ideas/creativity when you just start swiping shit from the bible. /sigh

They were apparitions of the Gods in PoT, not the Gods themselves.

Commy speaks the truth. The Planes were just representations because our minds could not comprehend the true Plane of Fear or Hate etc. So in reality, nobody in EQ ever really killed a god.

Fine, then we beat their pussy ass apparitions down once a week. Same difference. Once they became raid targets they stopped being anything other than the latest expansion's treasure box which was then trumped as an expansion later *ALL* of the God's gear was replaceable with loot from "monsters from another dimension".

And to be honest, if I were, say, Rallos Zek, and you came into my house and kept whupping my apparition/avatar/whatever’s ass on a weekly basis, I’d snap my fingers and turn you into a rat in the Freeport newbie area so you can get killed by some level 1 adventurer. Then I'd put a new lock on my house to keep any other mortals from stepping in my territory.

If you want to kill gods, restrict it to demi-gods because they're really just extremely powerful mortals and not divine powers that have existed since, for all intents and purposes, the beginning of time.

You're ridiculous. If devs listened to you, we'd never have any interesting battles and you'd never progress past a demigod. Do us a favor and don't get into storyline development.

EQ2 lore needs a reverse Greek Mythology moment,(eating of the gods by the titan) where all the gods are permanently killed/devoured/assimilated.

A whole new set/pantheon/being colonizes the people of Norrath.

THAT.... would be cool.

K monty haul. Obviously the *only* interesting storyline development possible deals with killing gods.

Take your own advice I say. If the only way to make an "interesting battle" is to have it be vs something like a god then you yourself dont have much imagination. I can think of a thousand different powerful enemies that dont have too cross the realm from mortal to immortal. Gods are just that GODS they arnt suppose to be beatable. Not only that... with the way mudflation works its only a matter of time before some of those gods are taken down by a few groups at the most. So we end up with a world that the "gods" can be beaten by 20ish people? Explain the sense of that too me please.

Also, whats stupid is getting your guild together rampaging through the planes of the gods and then heading off too some new content and wiping to a vampire who wants to be a god! Perhaps you dont see the irony behind that but whatever.

Anyway its all opinion based I know.. but I just cant get excited when I see the headline "The return of the gods!" I mean really.. who cares? Lets see some real gods please

Bastion of Thunder was an interesting idea. Rather than going after Karana, you went after Angarr, who had somehow trapped Karana. Even though that shows a sign of weakness, it's better than actually killing the god. Maybe entering Plane of Hate.. killing "An aparation of Innoruuk." After it dies, the true Innoruuk spawns, blurts out some text, and AE DT's your alliance. That would probably stir controversy over looting the corpse, therefor.. it'd probably need to be a mission instance in which everyone gets an item. The fight would have to be very, very tough in order for that. I think it sounds nice though.

Edit: Seeing that everyone getting an item on the first death would mean a lesser motivation to return, possibly have it as a step in a quest. Multiple aparations of a god, in a fashion sort of like MPG trials in EQ1. After getting the first item (unique per class), the items evolve/grow after defeating each aparation.
