Playing Devil's advocate, they have a ton of lore that people are interested in. It doesn't have to be an EQ1 clone to redesign zones that have changed over the scope of a catastrphic event and go with it for the sake of adding a dynamic level to EQ2.

This is where SOE could really make the game take advantage of it's franchise popularity.

As far as storylines like Ganaral Rucksif, a little bit of creativity could muscle him back in a different type of Unrest, or maybe even have the zone fall under water after the explosion rocked it into the lake. Kedge keep mobs fighting the undead of Unrest, each battling for what they feel is their rightful home - players choose a side and finish quests based on a double faction quest line where players choose the side they wish to fight for.

There are a few plot lines right now in EQ2.

1) Dragon Plotline (droag, Nagafen, Vyemm, Tarinax etc etc).

2) Vampires (T'Haen, D'Morte family, Anuk..)

KoS is all about the Dragon plotline. It was very well done. If you follow the epic "Qeynos Claymore" quest line along with DeathToll access, it goes into huge detail about whats going on. After wrapping all that up and completing the quest it mentions the "Next journey" will be across the seas in a land of dark.

I assume this is kinda the lead into traveling to Fay. Some how im sure they will bring back the D'Morte family, Indigo brotherhood, etc etc. DEs and Vamps are all interconnected from Mistmoor I guess. Previous vamp plots kinda ended at DoF and almost no mention of them in KoS. T'Haen was a joke... im guessing they whole vamp family was the "rednecks" of the bloodline.

Anyway - Translation of the text is "The Future of Everquest II" exactly. As far as gods coming back, I can't say for sure it will never happen but the rewards for Qeynos Claymore already use EQ1 God's names. Additionally, the quest text mention them a far amount, which was surprising.

Rumor has it this expansion will be huge. After KoS, the team in charge seems to have a good read on the player pulse (even thou raid content is limited).

This thread here seems to have solved a lot of the mystery.

While most still argue at one point these symbols represented Gods, they are undeniably the symbols that represent the Cities/Races of Norrath. As illustrated from the Firepots in TD, among other places.

The symbol thought to be Veeshan, is clearly also the symbol of Neriak. Sounds like it's time to reclaim the old cities of Norrath. WTB Gods.

I don't know the accurate this lore may be. My reference:
http://my.core.com/~mickiep/lore/mys...ns/origins.htm

Quote:
The meaning of the ancient Teir'Dal symbol of Caerthiel is as follows. The symbol directly in the center is Veeshan. The head of a serpent with the wings of a dragon. The symbol directly left is of Tunare, nine dots that emulate the standing stones seen throughout Norrath. The symbol in the center above that of Veeshan is the symbol of Brell, denoted by the candelabra which is often depicted worn by Brell. The symbol directly to the right of Veeshan is that of Prexus, three lines to denote the waves of the Oceanlord. Surrounding the four symbols is a great circle which depicts the veil erected by the three in their pact to keep the Wurmqueen in check.

The four on the outside from left to right are as follows: Lower left hand corner is Rallos Zek, upper left is Innoruuk, upper right is Cazic Thule, and the lower right is Bertoxxulous...the four horsemen to bring about the end.

The Four Horsemen
There will be four Horsemen to bring about the final days of armageddon, the second war of the gods. First shall ride hate to bring the night. Then shall fear ride to cast its cloak of horror upon the lands. Plague and decay will ride thrice to spread its seed across the lands. The three shall give way to the fourth, and War will embrace the world in an icy wave of doom. The four horsemen shall ride and take their place in what will bring about the final battle for Norrath.

Innoruuk who showed his hand at the Battle of Bloody Kithicor. Cazic Thule when he corrupted the Lesser Faydark and the last unicorn, Equestrielle at the attempted summoning of Tunare's avatar*. The three fold plague of Bertoxxulous upon the Karana Plains*. Rallos Zek who sits locked within his Plane of Power, awaiting freedom that he might wreak vengeance for his imprisonment at the last war of the gods. It is said even now in the lower planes where dwells the four can be seen evidence of emissaries and fiends from the realms of all four dark gods gathering their minions for the final hour. Such is at least spoken of within the Plane of Hate where reportedly is now also found a statue of Lanys T’Vyl.

A closeup of the icon that is nearly penetrating the veil on the new version of the symbol:

It looks familiar to me, though I cannot seem to remember or find where it may be from.

Quote:
Lanys T'Vyl and the Sleeper
When this happens, Lanys T'Vyl the former child of hate claimed turned to goddess of Envy will likewise seek her vengeance upon her enemies. She will awaken the Kerafyrm that lays docile beneath the eastern wastes of Vellious within the Sleepers Tomb. The Lifeguide which currently lays within the hands of Danak will be used to return the once child of hate to Norrath, in a new body. This not too unlike the event that transpired prior after the battle of Bloody Kithicor within the Steamfront Mountains.

Luclin, the Ringed Moon
This momentous event will transpire during the coming of the second moon of blood. "The Veil" which has slowly been waning will finally be brought down and there shall be an eclipse of the sun as Luclin passes between the two, and great darkness shall be cast upon the world of Norrath. Luclin is the second of Norrath’s moons. It lies concealed behind The Veil, only to be seen by those who dare tread upon the Plane of Sky.

My conclusion:
Someone at SOE fucked up and made the Veeshan symbol the same as the dark elves and past lore means jack-shit.

Personally I think it would be awesome if Kelethin was now a raft city floating around on the ocean of tears, and they've become master sailor Elves like the one faction from Tolkein. Teneri or whatever? (not that tolkein's elves lived on the waters, but their boats were the only ones that could find the hidden continent).
Dry land is not a myth!!!

I almost laughed myself into a coma when I saw someone had bound themselves on the docks and went AFK.

AFK + Bind + Sand Giant put me on the floor. It was hysterical.

I think you guys are vastly over-estimating SoE's developers intelligence. The idiots probably just picked a random symbol from EQ1 and used it. When they realized players who cared about the game would delve deep into the lore they probably said "oh fuck", and now they are quickly, and very badly, putting some shit together to go in line with the symbol.

Haha, stupid SoE. Worst.. developers.. ever..

For once it would be nice to read an EQ2 thread without people who don't even play the game coming to insult everything about it.

Hahaha, I remember that Banegrivm idiot.

He made his guild buy him a full set of Rubicite that I know of, and he probably did a ton of other retarded stuff as well.

Sol Ro had both him /and/ Searyx for a while.

Personnally one thing I liked to do on my free time in EQ was get on my Druid alt, charm a level 1 bat in Greater Faydark, buff the shit out of it (diamond skin, thorns, etc..), then /camp out to break charm.. then you can just sit back and watch unsuspecting noobs as they walk up and get pwned by superbat.

a_noob00 shouts : "WTF I hit a bat and died! /petition!"
