They were the little Timmies on the block back when I played, following the big boys around most of the time. Nice guys though ![]() History in EVE is just something very unique. Here you have an MMO that actually has a real, player-generated history of its own, with keyroles played by real people. I still remember the settling of Venal by the first alliance and the resulting Venal Pirate Wars, then the fall and resulting sacking of Taggart Transdimensional and eventually the resulting founding of the Forsaken Empire. That';s such a huge story and that's only what happened in the north. In the south you had the constand border disputes and raids between the Fountain, the Stain, and the Curse Alliances. Yep, back then we didn't have fancy names for alliances yet ;P Jade Constantine, anyone? I was always in the North and while we basically had our very own wild west space opera up there, I actually knew very little of what happened down in the south other than the stuff you read on the forums. There was just so much going on. You could be an famous pilot in one part of the galaxy and a complete stranger in another. Some people were just famous everywhere though, mostly because of their forum prowess. Jade Constantine, anyone? Viceroy? Tank? Stavros?.. Well this is just me rambling, but the player-generated content in EVE is just very special and it will only keep getting better as CCP involves the players more and more into the official lore of the game and more and more power to make a name for themselves. I've heard lots of mention of Tank CEO and how he was banned from the forums, who is this guy/what happened? mOO is a pretty cool story. They were the first very large and brutal PK Corp, apparently, back when Concord wasn't omnipotent or around and guaranteed victory. They camped 1.0 zones apparently and had the most advanced ships when the game first started..? Anyways, they terrorized the newbie zones so well GM's came in their own ships and a huge battle ensued. Apparently a GM was even successfully killed, GM Redwing or something, but I might be mixing up stories. Anyways, they were allegedly (this is all I've been able to gather reading on my own) one of the main reasons Concord now exists and low sec vs high sec. Granted, if not them, someone else would've done the same thing, but..! Not only is this player history, but nowadays some mission NPC's even make passing reference to mOO as a threat from days gone by. The devs just added them into the lore.

+1 Internets | Tank CEO got banned from forum, he was trolling waaaaay too much Even though he had points, he just would never stfu. He's still playing, at least he was a few weeks ago since I got a killmail of him It's always pleasant to get a kill of a very famous ace, especialy in a 3v3 fight. Jade Constantine is also banned from the forum, probably because his(er) post were consuming too much bandwith. He's still playing eve too, his corp still suck at fighting though, in short nothing much changed, except now it's Jasmine Constantine that is making lenghty post on the forum. Viceroy seems to be playing very casually now, I wonder if he's been banned from the forum too. I've not heard of Stavros for a very long time, he's probably quit or is playing very casually. |

This was well planned in advance although I can't figure out why the system was not claimed for the long-haul by putting in a bunch of large towers to get sovereignty. When a station is taken, all the current assets of the previous inhabitants are 'locked up'. It's a huge blow to moral, and to peoples wallets when their stuff is in limbo. Still, it was fun being part of it. It came out of nowhere and the forum abuse from it priceless.
