dont head for covert ops and stealth bombers right away. both are very limited in what they are good for, and both are very skill intensive, both SP wise and experiance wise.

of the eleite frigs i happen to like the AFs the best. they are able to have a good tank, with very good dps.

It's more technical then any other game I've ever played, but shit...that's what gives it legs. Do not let the learning curve overwhelm you the first few weeks or so, the tutorial (while long as fuck) will give you everything you need to know while just starting off.

Your first few weeks are going to be learning to engage targets and maybe how to mine, and in those processes, you will begin to whet your curiosity and move into more advanced topics. I think that you will find the technical progression inversely proportional to the amount of the game you want to bite off at a time.

Decide what you want to do

. That + learning the learning skills is the hardest part of the newbie game imho.

Pirate? Anti-Pirate? Form your own corp eventually? Empire builder? Roleplayer?

That's a good derail..

Roleplaying is actually doable in this game and actually impacts how the game evolves!

Get in touch with the other FoH'ers that have just started, gang up, start running higher tier missions or ratting (killing pirates) or ugh mining ops as a group, working collectively, watch each others asses and after a little while, join a corp, or take that shit on the road and be pirates yarrrr.

The only thing I did not like about eve in my early days was how alone you felt in the begining, but I'm a social fucking butterfly I love people godamnit!!!! You guys have already got a good network started.

Seriously, putzing around in empire with some friends not having to sweat wardecs and the hectic, albiet fun pace of 0.0 space while you get your feet wet is a blast.

I'm at the "not sure what to do stage", myself. I have all my Tier 1 learning skills at level 4 and will be done with Learning level 5 this week. I made this character 3 months ago, but just started the full account Saturday. It looks like Int and Memory are my primary stats. Not sure what my school of specialization is. I'm guessing I can check this on my Character window?(I'm at work right now).

I have a Minmater Frigate. Forgot which kind. It seems to pretty much tear up any npc's on the missions I do, but I'm guessing that's not really indicative of my ships power or my skills.

My character name is Prodigy Compuserve if any other fellownoobs want to add me to your addy book and maybe team up.

Is it possible to share missions ? Cuz last time I tried forming a gang with someone and going at it we couldnt figure out if there was that option, else we need to hit some astroid belts to find some rats im guessing?

Oh and I cant decide what to fly atm, got 3 ships fitted atm, a kessie a condor and a merlin, liking the kessie best for doing missions tho.

This thread is pretty impressive - i'm sure you've got more than a handful of people to sign up because of it, but the initial part that actually discussed the plot that was unfolding was probably the best moments of the entire thread. Anything new to report there?

well, you can get some harder ones than you can do solo and do them togeather and just manually split the rewards. but you cant share them like you mean.

Sure why not, in another big suprise KIA did a press release today announcing that they are stepping out of the Mercenary biz, to do what?

Could it be that they are about to become a bigger political mover and shaker in the North, I know alot of these corp names might not mean much to you but, KIA is definatly one the best mercenary corps out there, and in light of what BoB has done, like I said, this is a great time to be playing eve.

So are you saying that my race choice is bad and I should rebuild or that I'll be ok so long as I clearly focus on building those particular (INT/MEM) attributes?

Some corps/alliances imploding, lots more people running around like headless chickens but no more major incidents yet.

Mind you, I haven't checked this evening yet.

Well what are your attribute ? but vrutor for support might be a wrong choice. High perception & willpower are for frontline pvpers.

summery of events i can remember offhand over the past couple days:

IRON retreats from their 0.0 space under no pressure and kicks their deadweight corps. roveing bands of IRON have been seen around other 0.0 space.

BoB gives ISS control of the EC- outpost, drama insues, ISS gives the outpost back to TRUST.

TRUST promptly disbands and gives/sells the outpost back to ISS.

G disbands and reforms with some TRUST corps as D2.

RED defector offlines a couple RED pos' in coordination with LV forces attacking. RED dosnt know who did it, accuses LV of being GMs or working with their GM friends. drama insues.

thats what sticks out to me at least.

well, if you really want to be a builder, there is a 200k+ sp starting build for the new caldari bloodline that starts with Science5 and Recearch4. with high int/mem
