Funniest part about ASCN/CA taking Xelas' outpost is the sudden and mysterious disappearance of almost all the BoB forum-whores.

Mitch going batshit and -dark plugging off didn't help, at all.

KOS people have been ganked for like 1 year now, they've been they guys you go gank, because it's easy, so they drew the attention of a large part of the coalition enemies.
Not exactly the best situation to thrive for a relatively young alliance to have to deal constantly with some of the most experienced guerilla fighters in the game, you'd never see a LV or V patrol around.
Basicaly KOS was there to fuel PoS and to get ganked instead of the LV / V carebear by providing cannon fodders, honestly it's quite astonishing that they survived this one year.

You may be right Gurgeh.

It just sounds to me like they dropped the ball for the last time and it cost them a lot more than they woulda thought. A war dec from LV/V and being forced to pull outta 0.0 hurts, and many corps have already left KOS.

Not having half your moons covered with online large towers + guns when fighting RA, or anyone with half a brain honestly, is asking to get your system taken very very quickly. Direct battle at a tower w/ dreads and everything is asking to lose a few capital ships and crash the node. I've been in a few in the past few months and they weren't fun :\ Haven't lost anything too expensive yet because I was on the defending side and we had a pretty big advantage. Given a choice I'd tower spam just like RA does.

KoS really bit off more than they could chew in all honesty. My alliance is currently located in southern Omist region in LV territory, KoS could've done much better it they'd done as we did and start building your own sovereign systems within LV territory (with LV's permission of course) Unlike alot of other deals like this, LV charges a very low, reasonable rate that takes, maybe 1 hour a week per member to fufill instead of actually becoming a slave corp.

Who are you in Omist Tarantar? I remember you asking me this question - PM when you can.

And as for KOS, I read a reply from that thread from a KOS member stating "wtf should we spend all our time fuelling POS's - we do have lives etc etc". When I read that in conjunction to their unfuelled/easily destroyed POS's + RA/GS pwnage....let me just say what LV and V are saying makes a whole lot of sense.

Exactly, KoS has pretty much existed at the charity of every surrounding alliance, and, as everyone knows, nice people don't last long in 0.0.

So everyone decided to start shooting; forums look like the entire southern region is falling apart peacewise.

Ships

Sorry for not being on topic but didnt think this question deserved its own thread, and this EVE thread seems to be all things to all EVE players

When I enter a system looking for targets, sometimes when I scan I see more ships than there are players in the system. Makes it really hard to track down the actual players in belts or whatever.

Is this common? Do people abandon ships all over the place? Is it worth me getting probes to find these ships and half inch them?

Depends on the system, I've seen it more then a few times where I am.
Possibly miners do it to avoid being tracked down?

I once jumped into a system with only two other pilots, yet when I did a scan I saw something like 10+ ships in the system. I guess some people leave ships at safespots in case of emergencies.

Thought knowing the number of people in the system just by taking a quick look at the chatwindow was nerfed, aka the number there updates slowly. /shrug

You're probably picking up ships inside POS shields. Turn on Control Towers in your overview(IIRC it's under Entity) and you'll no doubt pick up 3-4.

It's under Structure, but yes that's probably what you were picking up. People like to leave stuff in POS's

Not that I'm aware of, the local window always updates for me as soon as anyone jumps in/out of the system. I know CCP is looking into fixing the whole "local issue" but for the time being it will reflect each pilot in the system.
