Shaman Review in 1.11

And a storm of retarded mage tears erupt on the cesspool that is the WoW forum. I find it pretty hilarious.

what the hell does "review" mean anyway?

"we made up all the classes at once and then let whatever happen happen...and now a year and a half after thinking about shamans, we are going to 'review' them - you know - just to make sure everything is still peachy." ?

and then there are all these people posting "HELL YA WOOT" and all excited that blizzard will take a glance at a class they created a year and a half ago and haven't looked at again since?

i just don't get this. if the shaman class has known problems , then blizzard should fucking fix them now instead of this "we'll throw you a bone maybe sometime in the future because you've been whining a lot, but we won't give you a date for when we'll do this - so changes may or may not happen. with our track record you can rest assured that most likely nothing will be done. but hey, maybe. we guess."

they should be CONSTANTLY reviewing ALL of the classes.

when the hell is vanguard coming out?

You seem to imply Blizzard has unlimited manpower and brainstorming time. By review, they mean an intensive look at the functions and abilities of a class in reference to others and what they can improve. There are small tweaks and changes for every class in most patches, but nothing very drastic; they're saving those changes for 'reviews.'

Amen dude. McQuiad made sure balance issues were fixed lightning-fast. Troll SKs only had a 60% xp penalty for like 3 hours after release I think.

Honestly don't know why Shaman and Mages would be happy about this, 2 classes at the same time is most likely to mean small changes ie similiar to the war & warlock "review"

If your goal is "balance," particularly considering PvP aspects of the game, do you think it is wiser to change one variable at a time, or ten? Seems like the better recipe to me to change one or two classes, allow time to observe and understand the effect of those changes, and then make more changes as needed.

But, but their hybrid powah and racial regen MORE than compensated for that!

It's gonna be minor. Some buffs to the crappy talents and some improvement in PvE usefulness.

Same with mages. Evocation and IAE made standard. A few crappy talents buffed.

So long as they reverse some of the backwards talent tree stuff (crappy abilities at the top of the trees) and make the long casting spells benefit proportionally from +damage gear I'll be happy.

Arcane Missiles is a joke with the current amount of +damage gear, instead of being a high mana high damage spell its a high mana low damage spell and it is only going to get progressively worse.

This review shit is irritating. They're reviewing and buffing every single class to be as good as the rest...well, when all said and done they might have well have buffed no one. Fuck class balance in the ass.

From what I've seen hinted at on the blizz boards, signs point to them giving mages some way of reducing aggro. Whether that means changing 'Arcane Subtetly' to effect all offensive spells, or adding a 'Fire subtetly' and 'Frost subtetly', or actually adding a 'feint' type spell.. remains to be seen.

I think they will get a talent to make a % of their int into +damage, similar to the priest talent Spiritual Guidance.

Also, some of the posts on the boards from blizz people suggests that they want to make the elementalist build (fire/frost) more viable. Considering Arcane is only picked because certain talents are required, either they are moving those to other trees (gimping arcane), making them standard, or re-doing the entire arcane theme. If they take the talents that everyone takes in arcane, evoc and IAE, standard, then there will be very little reason to put points in arcane. Unless, they replace them with similarly mandatory talents, or re-do the entire tree. Fire is useless for PvE right now, and elementalist build is semi-popular in PvP already.

In the interview they mentioned possibly making instant-cast arcane explosions just a feature of the spell and maybe making evocation a class ability.
